It's easy to format drives in FAT32, even big drives.

Just use Fat32format or SmartDisk FAT32 Format Utility. Both were free on the internet.

Even with all the helpful advice already given, it was still a major PIA getting this to work. I tried PowerShell formatting but the car wouldn't recognize the USB device. The MiniTool Partition Wizard kept asking for money before it would format. When I looked for Fat32format, what I downloaded the first time didn't work and was probably malware.

This worked for me:
