Shout out to all folks on here who have their cars tuned, both CVT and 6MT, Hondata or Ktuner:

are there CVT tunes available currentl? If so, how has yours held up/would there be any concerns for the CVT over the 6MT? Seems all with the 6MT have had nice success and fun has been had but few have stated the CVT may be unable to handle worthwhile tune or any power mods for that matter.
Any Input is welcome as I have never tuned a car before

Hondata has a compatible tune. I'm running ktuner with my 6mt

Iā€™m just unsure of the safety of my CVT. Folks are saying it canā€™t handle the higher Tq figures a tune could produce. I was looking for a tune mostly to increase throttle response time and reduce any hang when paddle shifting

If you get a 91 tune you should be fine... Or it might be a perfect opportunity to upgrade into the type s šŸ˜‰

Iā€™m going to do some more research on this tune and hondata specifically. I think the Type-S will be but a dream though with anticipated markups and assumed msrp. I may go more power for that kinda money but down the road

They may have reliable throttle lag eliminators on the market aka pedal products. Not sure about the Integra or auto trans, but Banks Pedal Monster is among the most trusted for my other 2 vehicles - truck & Jeep. They may be plenty for you for now & then save for other mods, type S, etc

thinking that because with the cvt the shifts are simulated, I would need a special tune to allow the rpmā€™s to drop quicker than they do/Eli are fake gear hang

Thatā€™s correct, a tune will be required to achieve that in particular. The pedal deal is usually just a cheaper, safer alternative (with the right product safeties built into the software).

I totally say tune all the way (far superior & more dialed in), but the pedal products are usually not traceable & easy to remove before inspection/service. So a bit easier for those wanting performance but still want their warranty assurance.

Iā€™m on 5k miles with kTuner and Iā€™m running a Cvt on my integra. No issues whatā€™s so ever , I do daily in Map1 but Iā€™ll switch to Map3 25 psi only when Iā€™m doing spirited driving or roll racing someone. My integra has a PrL intake , Prl front pipe and Ktuner V2, no issues so far. The reason I went with auto was due to this vehicle being my daily and I already have a weekend vehicle. One thing I did notice is some times the trans temp does reach 250, so Iā€™m still in the market for a Cvt trans cooler. I donā€™t regret buying a Ktuner on my auto, best mod that was done to the vehicle.

Yeah I bought as my daily and didnā€™t want to bother shifting in traffic. I have a 100 mile round trip commute three times a week. My partners brother is big into Miataā€™s so currently we are looking for a project (MT) weekend toy.
That was the only worry of mine was that trans temp and the inability to measure it using OEM software I.e in the dash or console screen. I know ktuner has it built in now which is awesome and has me leaning towards that rather than hondata; barring and aftermarket gauges I can wire into the trans.
With the cooler; Iā€™ve seen a few for 10th gen Hondas. I canā€™t find any details on how the CVTs act come winter (Iā€™m in the NE) is there a way to temporarily ā€˜preventā€™ additional cooling in colder months or maybe throttle it back if needed?
Also, do you have the full prl kit or the stage 1? Iā€™ve been debating on pulling the trigger on it or waiting a bit longer to see if any other folks drop one (Iā€™m an HKS fanboy)

I think youā€™re right; tune is the way I think Iā€™m leaning although, I am curious about these pedal mods. Iā€™ve never heard of such a thing so going to look into them even if just to learn.

Iā€™m running the Prl HV intake kit with a Phearable tune. I went with prl due to the fact itā€™s a nice looking oem style intake and didnā€™t want something too flashy for a daily. For trans temp , I know we have a civic turbo Cvt trans but I still canā€™t confirm if their cooler kit fits our vehicle with no issues. My fear is the amount of torque this šŸ’© trans can take. I know once I get the 27won DP and get retuned , I should be above the 250 mark on trq and thatā€™s when the problems start to happen. Unfortunately I want a bit more growl/noise from this vehicle (with out swapping exhaust) so Iā€™ll be ordering a DP and getting a re-tune and hope the trans or engine doesnā€™t break.

Pushing her to the limits; thatā€™s respect man!

I will likely push mine that heavy come post-warranty/a couple years from now but until then want a little more pep around Philly streets and bucks county back roads is all. I think doing the tune (ktuner) along with an intake (cmon hks!) and exhaust (ā€¦for real cmon hks!) along with the trans cooler would be ideal for me u til that point in time when I start seriously bumping up the power

Does anyone know if a v1 ktuner purchased for a 19 civic can be used on a 23 integra?

Reach out to Ktuner to confirm but I do believe if itā€™s been unlocked from the previous car youā€™re good to go. I have the Ktuner from my rdx but I havenā€™t reflashed my integra yet.
