Well I have the center latch... Now where is my Type S?

Do you have the part number for these? I’m gonna have to do the 3 rear seat swap along with the rear A/C and USB once I get my Type S. I know many FK8 guys have done that swap.

tough crowd regarding the small details of this car. i do think the positives outweigh the negatives. especially if that MSRP stays closer CTR territory as someone mentioned. I think that's a bit too optimistic and am expecting mighty close to $50k after destination. $50k missing a lot of small creature comforts does lower the overall value. but man .. if it drives anywhere close the CTR which gets absolutely raved about... then it'll be worth any price ~$50k. mid $50s and i'm definitely out as that's getting too close to M2/M3 territory which will come with a lot more high-end finishes and feel as well as performance (even if they are ultimately slightly less fun to drive).

tough crowd regarding the small details of this car.
As we should be. $50k is a lot of money to spend on a car.

We’re looking at what will be a $50k+ out the door that doesn’t have a sunroof, memory seat, rear air vents, rear USB, rear armrest, cooled seats, heated steering wheel, etc.

On one hand, I love the way the car looks, and know that the powertrain will be great. On the other hand, I look at all the basic features missing and think to myself, “do I really want to give up all those features, and more, that I have in my current car?”.

We’ll need to wait until the driving reviews start coming out. Obviously a number of them will just be positive hype videos, but I’m hoping there will be a few that look at car not through rose colored glasses, and offer their legitimate thoughts on the car and it’s value.

My goal is to try my best video reviews in exactly this manner (especially since no one is paying me lol). It will be just to share my experiences & opinions. I’m not a hype guy in any manner.
I think the problem with a lot of these video reviews on YT is that they’re dependent on manufacturer press cars being loaned to them to make their videos, and generate income.

If they make a criticizing video, a manufacturer could decide to not give them any press cars in the future, which means less videos, and thus less income for them. So what do they do? They make positive videos talking about how great every car is, without really highlighting shortcomings of the car or comparing the value of a car to others (for instance, $50k can get you in to a CPO S5 Sportback that is definitely more luxurious than an ITS, has AWD, and is faster).

That’s why I’m always skeptical. I generally can’t stand Raiti to begin with, but even in his video he completely glossed over the lack of memory seats, tried pitching the lack of a sunroof as a performance benefit (it’s not, it’s just a carry-over from the fact that Acura didn’t want to deal with the structural changes needed by cutting a hole in the roof of the FL5 chassis. On a street car, you could never discern the performance difference of a sunroof that weighs less than 1% of the vehicle’s curb weight), etc.

Hoping that we can’t get some honest reviews of the car, but given all the ore-launch hype about this car and the FL5, I’m not too hopeful.

The most honest channel I’ve come across seems to be Savagegeese. They seem to be pretty honest about things, and Jack owns an FL5, so I will be looking forward to their impressions about the car, from an honest perspective, as well as how it compares to the FL5.

yeah, not a fan of Raiti either… but this time he did gave us a better look at the car… but I could have put him on mute and the results would have been the same !
Savagegeese are really good. I do like Throttle House too… and Matt Watson from CARWOW is quite interesting with is 5 things he dislikes on every car…however, Carwow won’t review the ITS since he is from the UK…

Can already say he would have complained about the lack of a button to turn on and off the rev match 😂

I don't think the driving experience is going to be any different from the Type R, only real difference will be the adjustable damper tuning. Conderising the weight difference probably won't have much sound deadening either.

You hit the nail on the head here, and it's good reason to stay somewhat skeptical when watching the first round of impression videos--manufacturers fly the reviewers to a scenic location, put them up in nice hotels, feed them, provide them with welcome gifts, etc. and give them a short opportunity to drive the vehicle in a pre-determined location/way. I don't think I've ever seen a reviewer call out a glaring issue in one of these, there's no mention of markup or price gouging by dealerships, you'll never here, "I don't like it, I'd buy XXX instead," etc.. The reviews are generally great. "I like it! They did something special here!"

I'm a big fan of SavageGeese as well, honest reviews, and thoughtful input, no gimmicks (looking at you, Joe Raiti)--I'd be interested in comparing their initial impression of the MDX Type-S to their recent long-term review--they were pretty transparent in their long-term review about transmission issues they identified with the car which stumped the dealership (if you floor the car while turning, the transmission will automatically shift to Neutral for several seconds before reverting back to gear, something like that). The guys from ThrottleHouse didn't attend the Integra media drive last year, and they were pretty critical of it when they had a chance to review it in ~July, basically saying there wasn't much to differentiate it from the Si (though it's worth keeping in mind that they're in Canada and the stock Si is more fully equipped there--I probably would've jumped on a 2022 Si if a Canada-spec were available here).

I’m from canada so I do appreciate that for them… not surprise they were not invited at the acura press event, they did quite a few video where they are pretty hard on the TLX type S also…

As for the civic si vs integra thing in Canada, i have seen only one Acura as of today on the road. The Si is clearly the better buy here with the heated seats front and back and the heated steering for 10k less than an Integra.

Acura really need a competitive canadian price for the ITS to bring people back in the dealership, and some excitement for the brand itself. We do see some brand new RDX and MDX here and there, but its not what it once was for them up here.

Yep, SG is my go-to for thorough, in-depth reviews (they were pretty brutal about the issues with Volvo XC90), and TH is second (still good, but I feel they lean more towards the entertainment side of a review than the technical details like SG does).

I think those reviews will be helpful to people who may be on the fence like myself.

When it was announced I was all-in on it. Now as more details come out, I’m more on the fence about it, especially since my 21 TLX is fully paid off, and offers a lot more luxury features than the Integra does.

Also, if we look at the FK8, we saw how Honda added some features over the model years. The Integra still has another ~5 model years left in its run (launched as a 23, I’d expect a refresh for 26, with production ending as a 28). Maybe if I wait a few model years, some of these features may find their way in to the car.

Who knows, it’s all speculation at this point. We’ll have to wait until we get some driving reviews with what will hopefully be full production cars, and even then, I’ll have to wait to see what my dealer gets allocated (I’m pretty set on Performance Red Pearl, and won’t pay markup on one, so I may end up having to wait anyways if people are willing to pay over sticker).

Alright, enough rambling from me…
