52k wtf
I am back to looking at the Nissan Z or the new Mustang. If Acura gives huge incentives in the future then I might pick one up but it is way overpriced by about $5k.Exactly. I'm out. Off to get a supra (if i can find one at MSRP). Otherwise, looking forward to December when Acura puts the ITS on sale. Huge unforced error.
Just curious. What were you hoping for? what’s the highest # you would’ve said “oh fine… less is better but that’s still worth it”anyone wants #3 lmk in the Nothern VA area, I'm cancelling my preorder. Acura completely dropped the ball on the price.

I would’ve loved <$50k but I’m not a “magic number” kind of guy.

$5k over on a CTR does make a compelling counter argument. but since most are actually MORE than that, the ITS starts to make sense again. Annoying times, these.48 was my max. I see zero value in 52k. If it used the SH-AWD, 52 is fair. FWD, decontented car for 8k more than FL5. Honestly i'd rather pay the 5k markup on a FL5 over this.
m240i is a great choice .. fast, luxury, features, coupe styling … does it even come in a manual? utility and manual would likely still make the ITS a better choice (the ITS/CTR is likely much nicer feeling than the BMW … I had an F80 with manual and it was super rubbery… decent, but not great).I know your question wasn't to me, but I'll offer my perspective. The problem isn't that the ITS isn't "worth it" - the problem is that this is a crowded price point. There are a lot of other choices. In the mid-high 40s, you could say that it was a compelling value. And the elephant in the room will always be the CTR priced much lower (MSRP anyway). My magic number is that it needed to start with a $4. Once you're in the 50s, lots of other cars. For example, I don't need the extra space and this would be a spare car. In that case, why wouldn't I look at the fairly unique supra? Or as others pointed out, the M240i seems interesting.
Same thoughts. Though I do want a 5 passenger vehicle, hatch, Manual transmission. I was okay with sub 50k and converting the car into a 5 passenger. Now on the fence , waiting to see what trade-in is on my Aspec. Not sure what else would meet these criterias.m240i is a great choice .. fast, luxury, features, coupe styling … does it even come in a manual? utility and manual would likely still make the ITS a better choice (the ITS/CTR is likely much nicer feeling than the BMW … I had an F80 with manual and it was super rubbery… decent, but not great).
everyone’s situation is different for sure … needs, wants, budget (even if someone is wealthy, they may limit budget for a car). There are definitely a LOT of options out there. $50k daily that’s also fun? options. Manual, back seat, hatch, quick, track worthy, decent infotainment (bye bye toyota), then that list is VERY small.
Most of this comes down to preference so everyone will have to think hard if it’s worth it to them.
I just decided To sell my manual GT4 to open up budget for an M3 CS… more utility … but losing the manual which I love. i *think * I’m going to get the ITS to satisfy my performance-manual desires …. Hmmm
