Acura just released a series of video presenting the Integra Type S on youtube. Mostly well knowed information. But the one about the interior was pretty cringe… I mean… if you compare with the cheaper FL5… this gage clauster looks sooo dull in sport + mode compared to the +R mode… and well… still can’t believe how not sporty those seat are looking…. Here we go…

Nice videos. But I would've definitely appreciated more sound clips & even more importantly...the other colors still yet to be seen in reality! I'm tired of using my imagination. Feed us, Acura!

The unrealistic expectations with this car are getting borderline comedic.
Interesting… what are the unrealistic expectations ? An as nice gage clauster as the 11k less FL5 ? As nice seats as the cheaper FL5 ? Or maybe an exhaust sound as good as a 15k less elantra N ? All those are not deal breaker… but comedic really ?

People wanted an attainable Type R in a suit and that's exactly what they got, now its not good enough because it doesn't have every feature of cars 10k more expensive for a price tag of 48k.

Unless your budget is unlimited.. every car is a compromise. I too groaned a bit at the price when everyone was predicting 48 but at the end of the day if it delivers 90% of the FL8 experience with the added creature comforts, thats a home freakin run

Type S in the house!
First couple videos seemed exciting but it then repeated content. I'm still on the fence.

What a lack of imagination for a gauge cluster thats fully digital
That's my complaint with the Civic/Integra platform in general. All that screenspace and we get basic gauges with Calibri font :p Could have done some animated S2000 style gauges or something!

R mode dash is so cool. I don’t know why they wouldn’t copy it or give us something similar. The way they talk about the red glow and yellow dials kills me lol

The gauges in Sport+ are an homage to the DC2 Type R. Cool throwback, but it'd be nice to have options.
Didn’t know that.. I still think they should’ve made that look the standard and gave us a bit more flavor for S+

After bringing it up, I threw together a quick photoshop of what the Integra gauges would have looked like with the DC gen typeface, man I wish we had this at least:

lol, I like how on the interior video, they talk about how they removed the moonroof and center rear seat to save weight (definitely not because it's already like that in the CTR and this is just a badge engineered version of that car), but then they leave all the electronics/motors/ball screws in for the power driver seat.

If you want to save weight, make the seats manual adjust. Power seats are heavy and certainly don't save any weight (just like how a foam lower seat cushion in the rear doesn't add any weight), and IMO power seats without a memory function are worse than manual seats, because they're slower to adjust..

Also, as many have harped on, the gauge cluster is a disappointment. The side bezels are large, with most of that space being used for symbols/indicators that are never going to be on (why not just have the symbols show up on digital display itself?), the bezel at the top is a waste of space because you don't get the shift lights from the CTR, and they couldn't even be bothered to create a custom GUI for Sport+ mode like what's in the $8k cheaper CTR. But hey, at least they made the digital needles yellow!
