Right, I probably should have specified "other than the front two underneath". I'll be required to have a prominent hook either front or rear once I'm bumped out of the intro run group, and those guys won't cut it. Looks like I'll have to go the custom route.
Curious if anybody has found or rigged up a tow hook, either front or rear. Just did my first track day with the car, and the org I ran with (and will likely continue to run with) requires tow hooks for intermediate run groups and above.
I also watched a guy in an S4 fly straight off into the...
If the TEP paint wasn't so difficult to match, I might have foregone PPF and just opted to respray when the time came, but that's not a great option with pearlescent paints. Plus, PPF grants some nice peace of mind.
I just did the full front. I'll be tracking the car on occasion, so I don't want the front to get completely obliterated, but at the end of the day, it's not like it's a Ferrari. It is certainly a very special car, but I can't justify dropping what would likely be over 15% of the car's value on PPF.
SunBusters in Austin. I've hade them PPF and tint three other cars previously, and they do excellent work. They aren't the cheapest, but they certainly aren't the most expensive either. Generally, they're right in the middle; a few hundred $$$ more than the cheapest quote, but typically about...
If your installer doesn't have the templates, I'd highly recommend either waiting or finding a new installer. The template very closely contours the letters, is barely visible, and looks much cleaner compared to just cutting out a rectangle.
That certainly seems like a good sign they care about their product. I've previously had SunTek installed on two other cars, and I was very pleased with the clarity and durability. Granted, it definitely helps to have a good installer.
I just had mine done on Monday with SunTek, and they had templates available. The individual letters in "Integra" are cut out on the template and match up almost perfectly.
The F8x manuals are not bad, but they do have the typical BMW rubberiness to them. If you've driven and E46 or E90 manual, it's roughly the same. Not bad, but nothing to write home about either.
I was in the same boat as you, cross-shoping the ITS with Fxx M3s and M2s, specifically Competition Pack examples. I ruled out the M2 due to the lack truly usable back seats, but the M3 was tougher to let go. It ultimately came down to the fact that at MSRP for the ITS, I couldn't find any...
Picking up my TEP allovation now. I see 0 mismatch on the rear bumper and only a slight difference on the front. I'm not picky anyway, but just putting it out there for others that are.
Just got notification from my sales guy that my TEP pre-order arrived today. It was initially scheduled for 07/10, so that was a pleasant surprise. Planning on picking it up tomorrow.
I initially received an email from Acura corporate on the 16th indicating my car was being built. I reached out to my dealer earlier this week and they notified me that the car was built and should be arriving around the 10th.
Lol my bad, that went right over my head. I'm right there with you; I work in IT and my brother is a welder, and he does way more complex math on a daily basis than I'll ever have to.
Just calculate the sales tax negated by your trade in value. In TX its 6.25%, so say $20k trade in, that'd reduce your overall tax burden by $1250. So, if you can get more than $21250 for it elsewhere, that would be the better deal.
