Langley, BC acura told me BC is only getting 20 cars (I guess for 2024?) and because I dont have a trade in (even though I will be financing), I don't even need to bother coming into the dealership to talk to them. lol
car buying in 2023 sucks.

Hello Brother…….So Acura of langley told you that they are getting 20 cars this year individually as a dealership? or all of the BC collectively is getting just 20 cars for this year !!?

Back in Feb when I reached out to Lougheed acura the dealer told me ITS would be about 60k +~9% interest rate so I hadn't put down a deposit. This scared me, and I have a deposit down for FL5 at Westwood Honda so I didn't put a deposit then.

I only reached out to Langley last week or so through their site and was contacted by some guy that's in charge of 3 dealers in LM (Langley, Northsore, and Burrard). He connected me to Langley, asked me when I am coming, so I was going to go yesterday, but I got a call friday afternoon by someone working at the dealership saying they won't really sell me ITS unless I have a trade in (basically told me they wouldn't wanna waste my time). so I hadn't gone to the dealership on Saturday. The original guy I was in conact with (in charge of 3 dealerships) then texted me and told me that while it would be nice to have a trade in I don't need one to put a deposit down on the ITS and that I could still come in... so I have yet to go in and ask them what's the deal..
I hope it's at MSRP with no BS.
Sorry, it was a long way to say I don't have a deposit at langley yet and idk if it will be MSRP or not.

so you put deposit for FL5 at Westwood Honda in Feb this year ?……I tried almost every dealership of Honda in Lower mainland and they were not ready to accept my deposit on FL5 in January as they were saying that FL5 is already sold out…..are you getting FL5 at MSRP at Westwood Honda ?

Sorry i put a deposit down march last yr. Im not sure if its gonna be MSRP. I know fk8 they sold at MSRP. We will see if they will sell fl5 at msrp too.

I will visit the store in the coming weeks, but if they are not msrp, at least i know where to turn to.

Dealer has asked for preferred method of purchase (lease/finance/cash) along with whether there is a trade in.

They also confirmed for existing reservations, your answers to the questions above do not impact your place in line.

surprised langley is even allowing you to get your money back. according to the internet manager who i spoke to, it would be an allocation and won't be a deposit, more of a "downpayment" as it would go towards allocation.

There is no such thing as non-refundable since they can always pawn the car to the next person. You just have to be persistent. If it's factory custom order, I can sort of understand. If you use credit card, you can dispute within 180 days. Dealers also don't like having bad reviews, they will refund you since the deposit is not worth the bad PR.

I put in the deposit in April, and nothing was solid then. The deposit of course is refundable since we were not even at the time of getting any on order.

Apparently there's also an OMVIC law regarding delivery. I found out recently as I was trying to get my deposit back from Volkswagen for a Golf R. If vehicle that you've put a deposit for is not delivered within 90 days, the dealer legally has to refund you your money. Supposedly dealers will try to get around this if there is a VIN attached to BOS. In my case there was, but I threatened the sales guy and told him I'd give the dealership a bad Google review and include his name in it. They we're quick to refund the deposit.

idk where you are but thats load of bullshit.
I am in BC. Langley dealer tried to pull no trade in no sale bull shit. I got in contact with someone else that oversees the dealership that said i dont need a trade in so I am going in to see what their deal is but ya that seems fucked up.

I hope you can find a better dealership

I put a refundable deposit down subject to test drive a week ago,the car was at MSRP but had to take ceramic coating at 1299. plus all weather mats at 295. I asked if I could substitute with accesories instead of ceramic coating but they would not budge.
