Inflation, Civic prices went up a lot too. And now Ford has no muscle car competition.

And they have to make up for losing $10k per EV sold, though fortunately they’re selling very few of those.

Yeah honestly my point isn’t so much “omg that’s so much for a Mustang”, it’s more to quell the criticism the ITS got when the price was announced. I still think it’s a fair price and for me, an actual bargain.

If you’ll recall, some people ragequit the forums in May after the price info was released lol.

People should be angry at inflation, just don’t blame the carmakers - vehicle prices have lagged most other things.

Agree. Also I know that some of us are lucky to be able to purchase the dealer demos or the first 200 preorders, so to have a pretty rare car for the next few months or even a year should be factored in to the price too. I have had the car for two weeks now and the stares I got from people were quite enjoyable

I've had mine out to a couple local cars and coffee meets this weekend. By the time I parked it had drawn a crowd both times.

"Drawn a crowd" is a bit of an overstatement; not like Dom Toretto when he rolled up to the night races in F&F1 crowd, but a handful of people started walking over and I got drawn into conversation both times. It definitely has enthusiasts' attention, at least for the moment.

I remember hearing the last gen Mustang GT had reliability issues with the 6mt transmission unable to handle the power. Of course this doesn't mean every 6mt Mustang transmission will fail. But the failure numbers in otherwise fairly low mileage and stock 6mt Mustang GTs was a bit shocking. Is the Mustang still using the same transmission? Because if so, that's a strong point to consider. If that transmission fails outside of warranty, it won't be a cheap fix.

That being said, I myself did strongly consider a 6mt Mustang GT at one point but that transmission scared me off. What I also really don't like is the sound of the engine. I've come across a number of Mustangs with exhausts installed and personally think they sound awful.

The MT82 in the 1st and 2nd Gen Coyotes (11-14, 15-17) were dog shit. The MT82-D4 in the 3rd gen Coyote's (18-23) were much better and included rev matching. Not sure if they made any changes to the 4th gen Coyote(24+). As far as exhaust on the Coyote most of them suck but the AWE touring makes it sound like a real muscle car because they use an h-pipe vs most of the others use an xpipe like Corsa which everybody puts on those cars. Sounds like absolute ass.
