Hey everyone,

MBRP borrowed my car to finalize their 3” cat-back for the Integra Type S. I think this might be the first DE5 cat-back hitting the market. I’ve had it for over a month now and it’s been a lot of fun! Below is a video I made comparing stock to the MBRP exhaust!

Feel free to follow my ig/YouTube channel (@platinum_de5) for updates! More vids/posts coming soon!

First and foremost thanks for taking the time to create this comparison video and share with us. Not every exhaust company takes the time to do so and just markets what theirs sounds like.

After rewatching a few times the MBRP does sound better than expected especially in comfort and sport modes. Were both cars stock other than yours having the cat-back?

Wow. Sport + sounds miles better.
A big question is in comfort mode. Is there highway drone? I'm one that likes a loud exhaust sometimes, but I leave early in the morning before 5am so something more subtle is appreciated.

Glad you enjoyed it! I don’t work for MBRP, and I wasn’t asked to make this video, I wanted to make it to help spread the word.

I think the MBRP sounds awesome, and I’m very happy with how it turned out. The first car was completely stock, and my car only has the MBRP cat-back (front-pipe is MBRP, downpipe is stock).

Comfort is honestly still very refined and relaxed. I don’t really notice any drone. There is drone in Sport/Sport+ at 2500 rpm, but I usually just downshift and then I’m good to go.

The cat-back came with a ‘resonator delete’ section so I’m probably going to try that out soon.

Losing the valved exhaust wasn’t an option for me tbh. I love having a loud exhaust, but I need it quiet for when my parents are in the car, I’m in my neighbourhood, or if I’m on a call, so I understand what you’re saying.

Are there more pops/bangs at high rpms when in Sport+? Sure sounds like it..
I'm deciding whether to go this route, or just do a downpipe and then a future tune :hmm:

I certainly notice more than with the stock exhaust! I feel like some are so small that they got drowned out by the stock exhaust, but with the cat-back you hear all the pops really well. I really like the cat-back, but I still plan on getting a Downpipe and a tune in the future.

I think that sounds great! Do you happen to know if they're going to make anything for the FL5? I'd probably pick this one up if it's a direct swap!

Saw another vid on YouTube from June of someone with FL5 testing their cat back as well. Pretty sure once released, there will be both versions!

The DE5 version is really just a stretched out FL5.

I like that you can tune it by adding or removing the front resi. I like it so much I ordered the DE4 version 🤙
