im Not against EV’s. Not my preference even though I’m a EE major as odd as that may be. Governments pushing EV onto people is what I dont like. But there are a number of trade offs people need to consider. I’m with you, excited for hybrid ICE with a little of battery. Although battery tech is still not there, solid state batteries may be viable but another decade before we see mass production.

Follow the money, far too much oil and gas available to just abandon it. The deep pockets know those are still gold mines to just simply shift away from. There is one country with the monopoly on batteries and there’s going to be some balancing with these ridiculous prices first

I have seen many buy and then sell their EV's over it and go with a Tesla for the superior infostructure and software.
But ICE cars are gaining popularity as their end seems eminent, so who really kno0wx, after seeing Honda's future offerings like the Prelude, I don't think gas cars are going away anytime soon.

There are several current two door options out there to choose from so there's little reason to wait for another two door to come out. Enjoy what you can and enjoy what you have.

To be clear, I am not an EV guy per say, But I do plan to consider a USED tesla once we buy a house.
I have been following them very closely and I have seen a lot of success with these cars and their batteries with proper maintenance.
I am not one that subscribes to the idea that evs are taking over, hardly, they are a long way from even being popular enough to make a dent, but they do have their positive aspects too.

I have seen a few on their 3rd batteries at 110k and others with 400k still on the OG.
The guy who is on his 3rd, had them replaced under warranty.
It looks as if you take care of the battery by following the suggestions for setting limits the battery can last a long time.

I'm looking at the used Tesla market and it is intriguing.
I can pick up a Model S used 2 or 3 years old for around 40k with FSD and other options I like, I think for that price, I am definitely going to give it a try.

I love their network, I like the way they constantly update the software and I think my wife is the prime candidate to drive one, the money she spends on gas, oil, brakes etc.. is alarming, and I think she would save us a lot of money with a Tesla.

All that said, I am keeping my 350Z, my ITS and I'll be adding another Harley to the mix next summer, so I am not "going ev" but I do think I will add an EV to the fleet in the coming years.

well, I am two years out or a little more, a lot can change in that time, but right now, I feel confidence with a used model s
The model S is the one I prefer but a new one is a little out of my budget, especially as an experiment, I want to stay around 40k.
Anyway, as I said, mostly thinking out loud, we will see what happens when the time comes.

I can't help but think, after seeing the new prelude, and a few other new cars as 2 door coupes, that Acura might take a look at a 2-door option for the Integra's and Honda with the FL5.
I would really hate to buy the Integra and then a year later see a 2-door offering come out.

Those are unaffiliated with mugen, i believe they're an independent designers work unless he somehow works for mugen, but could not find any source suggesting he does.

This thing looks like a tragic accident. Hilariously awful.

If, god forbid, this monstrosity ever sees a green light, it will 1000% be all-electric.

Even if it didn't look like someone's hand got stuck in a blender, hard pass.

Severely doubt these will be the last ICE performance vehicles. I also highly doubt that all future performance vehicles will be fully electric. The resources to make batteries do not support this and the massive amounts of abiotic fuels to continue making ICE cars means that there is just way too much money to just abandon.

These also provide ingredients for fertillizers that feeds billions and billions of people. There aren't any cheap alternatives to oil. The grid infrastructure cannot support it if every person had an EV right now and the majority of our electricity comes from burning coal/gas anyway. Have we seen any money go towards developing new transmission lines and infrastructure bolstering? Absolutely not
It's not that all performance vehicles will be EV or that ICE vehicles will go exist. That isn't the goal, nor should it be the goal. In the future, it'll just make a lot more sense to get an EV or at least a hybrid/PHEV.

EV prices are coming down. Only more infrastructures will be built. Gas prices will likely look up as we drill less and import less from the Middle East and they decrease supply to keep up. Legislation may make ICEs more expensive to register, own, repair, etc. Dealership mark-ups have only helped. For more average consumers, it won't make sense to get an ICE over whatever entry EV exist. It already doesn't for many middle-class families whose goals are cost and convenience. Grid expansion and upgrades are already in effect.

Again, this is not to say ICEs will cease to exist. Anyone who absolutely need range, or lives in an apartment or area with few chargers will be hold-outs and that's perfectly fine. Some performance models will continue to be ICE. Many will simply not like EV powertrains and that's fine.

For my own parents, I plan on getting them an EV or PHEV. There's virtually 0 chance or reason to get them a traditional ICE unless I was strapped for cash and get a used vehicle instead.

If it were up to me, I'd skip EVs entirely and invest heavily into public transit. Most transit is to get to work or the grocery store. It's incredibly easy to funnel people into places they'll work. The benefits are endless from improved mobility leading to social mobility, more expendable money to stimulate the economy, less people buying overpriced vehicles, insurance, maintenance, and fuel, less emissions, AND the roads are freed up. Cars would still exist, there'd just be less of them. Instead of a three car household, we could be a one-car household. Countries like Japan and parts of Europe have great car culture AND public transportation. It's absolutely possible.

I love your vision but, America.

I just can't see it, no more than I can see an America with less guns. Or free healthcare. It's too "socialist" a concept for the masses to buy in. In this multiverse timeline, at least.

I like the front fenders but I do agree, after spending some time looking at it, it's pretty bad. I do like the front fenders though.
