I'm surprised people aren't recommending ppf on headlights. I know Porsche advises against them for delaminating risk but if my previous cars were any indication I'd say ppf on headlights is surely worth it. On my previous cars, if I had rock chips on hood/bumpers then I also had pitted windshield and headlight covers as well, and they quickly become sore sights.
As for my justification for PPF, I live in the South so sand/salt wasn't a concern, and I don't drive much on the highway so pebbles and debris from trucks weren't much of a concern either. What got me convinced on the value of PPF was going on mountain drives (including Tail of the Dragon runs) and getting peppered with rocks following a bit too close to those rear wheel drive cars with 300+ sized tires
