Car theft by CAN invader attarck or CAN bus hacking is getting more popular because it can be done within a few minutes with tools needed. It had been a big issue for Lexus in Japan and UK but Acura and Honda have the same security holes. Lexus put encryption in the past couple of years to prevent this and at this point the risk is reduced. Does anyone know if Acura and Honda have added similar security measure to protect against thefts?

Thanks for replies. It sounds like Honda and Acura are a few step behind. I know that this is eventually a chicken race, but it is ridiculous to get a car stolen by getting a corner of the bumper ripped off within a few minutes.

I mean a Flipper Zero can be used to scan and copy your keyfob signal while it's in your house. If someone's determined they will find a way. Now with KIAs being super easy to take thats the current focus. You're more likely to get your wheels stolen.
