  1. Borla Exhaust for the DE5

For a $2k system i can't imagine not throwing in a 5$ straight pipe as a selling point, but I guess a lot of manufacturers do it. Glad to hear you're pleased with it! With the valves closed how much drone do you get at mid speed/part throttle? I'd love for someone to actually grab a dB meter...

It's definitely not unique to Honda. I know some bimmer used it as well. I don't see how they could even suggest it's a safety issue considering the pin does not hold in any direction, and comes right out. When the car is sitting on the ground the strut nuts apply only some slight horizontal...
  3. Borla Exhaust for the DE5

Do they? I only saw the single wall stainless. Do you have a link to them?

  5. Borla Exhaust for the DE5

It would. I contacted ark to see if they're planning on making anything. I like the mbrp, but like you I don't like their tips, and I'd love to see some denser or resonated tips to clean up the rasp and drone. Guess we'll see
  6. Borla Exhaust for the DE5

The mbrp is just a clamp on tip. Two 2.5" and one 3". You can get whatever tips you want. Corsa makes some very nice double wall. I bet some nice resonated tips would look awesome and kill a bit of the pop rasp that comes with the larger piping.

"nice" to see other mk7 owners that came over to its and still see things clearly. The mk7 punches above its weight in so many ways. Mine was 8 years old, and while it was a blast in so many ways, I needed a bit more legroom and the its delivered. There are just some things about the mk7 that...

Well this was easy. Free camber. We'll see what it looks like when I get it to my mechanic!

Got the Alcantara wheel on. The factory bolt was tightened down way beyond torque spec. I almost broke a 10mm Allen socket trying to get it out. I did break that same Allen head socket on the way in, but thankfully given my German car ownership history I have a ton of torx and triple square...

Well I finally got the car all polished up and 98% perfect before going in for ppf. Unfortunately, and sadly, my ppf person broke her ankle so she can't make tomorrow and will be delayed a week. The good news is that she's not handing it off to one of her employees, but she's planning to do it...
  11. Looking for a reputable shop for ppf, ceramic, tint, etc.. in CT

I recently did a lot of reading on what ppf is best today since the last one I did was 6 years ago for my wife's q7. That was xpel and it held up great, but 70k miles for factory xpel was about it. As of the last few months, it appears ceramicpro is the number one since they use less adhesive...
  12. Track suspension setup

The vast majority of race drivers out there knew a (truly) wealthy person early on in life and made connections to current/former drivers. The only way to do that is to get out there and do more of it 😀. I'm 34 now and 2 young ones, and despite being one of the faster drivers in the 3 regions...

Yeah I don't get it, either. Also, why aren't my rear windows auto up/down in 2024? My gti had it, and rear vents... Lol Our perforated leather in our q7 has taken a beating from my son's crumbs. I have to do serious twice a year deep cleans 😅

I wanted tep on white, but that seems to be the rarest color combo. I searched almost every dealer across the country and found a few tep on black, but that was it. Coincidentally, I had a hard time finding prp anywhere and my local dealer had two. The black interior has some added benefit for...

If you come out to a NASA event, let me know! I'll probably be there! That grey looks fantastic in person! I test drove a grey one before the red one.

I had the vs5rs on my gti and loved them! Ceramic coating them was key for brake dust from the ferodo ds2500 pads. They're still in my garage! They also fit the vw dynamic center caps and matched super well in anthracite. Those are the centers that stay level as the car drives, and it's a silly...

That's an easy solve actually! There are emblem painters you can find on Etsy that will do the work, or you can find a paint shop local to you. I've done quite a bit of painting and I keep a few lvlp guns around, so something like that is a 1hr job I can do in the backyard. For the black...

It's a great red! I'm looking at options for a winter wheel and can't decide if I want bronze, black, anthracite, or silver. Apex has some decent options, and I like their products!
  19. Back on Track

Hi all! I just got an its a couple weeks ago and replaced my VW GTi. The gti lasted in my driveway for almost 7 years and that's longer than any other previous car has. The its was the first car I've driven in the last few years that made me want to sell my vw, and that includes a massive...
  20. Track suspension setup

I'm new to this forum, but I'm a NASA instructor and occasionally a TT driver in my dedicated racecar. I moved from my daily driver vw gti to the its because it's a much better setup car from the factory at a clubsport level (think less than 5 weekends per year and being a street car). This car...
