  1. Autocross megathread

I recall that you mentioned that now. Yeah it's funny they'd say that when literally almost every other car on the road only uses 3 bolts to secure the strut mount and no floating pin, lol. You'll find that additional camber up front is pretty huge for grip. Even half a degree total more is...
  2. Autocross megathread

Did you pull the pins to get more camber up front? Not sure how much you care or your region does, but springs put you in a different class in autox. My region is super strict so they follow every rule to the T. I haven't been out in autox in like 4 years now. I won the midyear divisional...
  3. Autocross megathread

You lost a bit of time in the sweepers by staying so far out. You're smooth on your inputs, which is more of an HPDE or high speed track trait. In autox you have to be more violent about rotation start and then sort it out mid corner. The understeer isn't really chassis understeer in your...
  4. Back on Track

I personally haven't had great results with hawk pads. They've usually been too aggressive on rotors and too ready to overheat and glaze up. Ymmv, but the hps5. 0 to me is still very much an autox pad. When it comes to swapping a street and track pad I like to stay within the same brand for...
  5. Back on Track

Are you looking to also drive them on the street for some time or just swap on before going to the track and bed in by driving there?
  6. MILLTEK ROAD+ Valved Catback Exhaust Sound Comparison and thoughts

Thanks! This is great news since the Ark resonated tips I like are 2.5" to 4.5". The only thing I don't like about the mbrp is that the tips are mismatched and going from the 3" center you'd have to get a reducer to match some tips or get lucky that someone makes identical 2.5" and 3" ones.
  7. Back on Track

These are pretty nice, and improve the key feel a lot. I've never used fob covers before, but I like this way too much. They're also only 12$ or so on Amazon!
  8. Ambient Lighting

I think he means like how other manufacturers let you change the color in the infotainment directly or even have it react to things. In one of our cars if someone is coming from either side while parked, the door light will light up red and if you try to open the door it will play a sound from...
  9. MILLTEK ROAD+ Valved Catback Exhaust Sound Comparison and thoughts

Thing is, if you want to hear exactly what the car is doing on track, you do this by removing sound deadening, interior panels, rubber bushings, and anything else providing any insulation. In my other vehicle at any given point on track I can hear both fuel pumps whining, every vibration the...
  10. Metal Flakes in Oil

Honda today is not Honda from 2004. I wouldn't expect any of these engines, especially the turbo ones, to last like they once did. That's just part of the modern automotive world. Lots of power being squeezed out of tiny engines while trying to keep cost super low.
  11. MILLTEK ROAD+ Valved Catback Exhaust Sound Comparison and thoughts

How much louder can a stock car with a cat back get than a straight through design? That's essentially what you get with the mbrp and milltek once the valve opens. Even the stock exhaust you can chop out the center muffler and you'd only be left with the resonator. Larger pipe isn't really...
  12. What did you do to your Integra Type S today? 🙋🏻‍♂️

Even the its is way too much for the road. It can touch roughly 1.2G peaks on the ps4s, so tapping even 60% of its potential on the road is horendously dangerous and would make passengers seriously pucker. Not to mention it's a 10:1 car, so even at modest paces, when you put your foot down...
  13. MILLTEK ROAD+ Valved Catback Exhaust Sound Comparison and thoughts

Yeah I'm really curious what the size of the clamped area is (the pipe outlet/tip inlet). I'd love to get some resonated tips onto an exhaust.
  14. MILLTEK ROAD+ Valved Catback Exhaust Sound Comparison and thoughts

Sounds pretty good! I hate how much milltek charges for a slip fit exhaust 😔. Do you know what size the outlet for the exhaust tips is? Are they all the same size?
  15. installed Mishimoto expansion tank today

Because metal is better than plastic, right? Wish someone would just mold a better plastic design... Really reinventing the wheel here
  16. Your choice of coating, sealant, or wax?

I've used a myriad of things. For spray on, nothing is quick and awesome like old school opti seal. One cheapo bottle does like 60 cars, it's incredible. Touch up once per year and you're good to go. These days I look for more durable so I use Adam's graphene advanced 10h Ceramic. Very...
  17. Pop and bang issue.

It's not expensive... On average it's like 64c per gallon of a difference. For a tiny tank like ours that's less than 7$ per fill up. The average car loan is 730$/mo these days, and lines up with the cost of this car. So the average fill up is <1% the cost of the car loan more. That's a drop in...
  18. ITS Drivers Window Rattle/Noise

I get that. Sorry to hear it's so bad. I actually peeled up the gasket and put Gummi on the back of it while making sure to clean it well. I left the felt I already put down. I noticed before that it got worse each time I used the windshield washer. I partly wonder if it was getting into the...
  19. Back on Track

Nice! Our crosstrek wasn't the worst, but there were definitely a lot of random small noises. My friend has one of the first year ascents in Colorado and he mostly loves it. He did have an a pillar just randomly fall off one day while driving, and that has rattled a lot for him, but otherwise...
  20. ITS Drivers Window Rattle/Noise

If you stick something in to tighten the run channel does it still make the noise? Ideally the rubber shouldn't make any noise and there should be *some* room for the window to move, otherwise it will crack. If it's so much room that you can move the window when pressing on it while closed...
