I'm not a fan of sequential signals, but I watched the video in the Amazon link and it appears to show auto-folding mirrors. Does anyone have any info on those?
I got it sorted. I did have to take the cover off again to get to it, but only partially. I was able to get it knocked out in about 20 mins, but time was saved by only having to remove one splash guard.
This little episode confirmed 2 of my suspicions.
1. As soon as I realized I had...
Cool, thanks. I guess, I just didn't turn them enough. I'll give them another try, but this time with a drill. That should do the trick. I'd like to get a powered "ratchet," but damn those things are spendy.
Yesterday I tried to remove the skid plate to gain access for running the power wire for my trailer wiring harness and failed miserably. I got the 4 quarter turn fasteners out and the two Phillips head ones in back. I also managed to pry the plastic clips out of the rear, but couldn't get the...
It's already done, just not by me.
It starts at 15:00.
I would add that if you have splash guards that adds one screw in the wheel well and if the dealer installed them be careful that the spring clip that retains that extra screw wasn't installed correctly. It appears the guys who did mine...
Posi-Taps and Posi-Locks are my go to for vehicle electronic work. They are typically very easy to work with and they have a variety of sizes. When working on my motorcycles, I usually add a dab of dielectric grease for good measure, but as clean as it was behind my tail lights, I don't think...
I would love to post up that my wiring harness is installed and working and everything is perfect, but I can't. The wiring harness isn't the issue; it's in and working. The problem is I'm a moron.
Installing the harness wasn't easy. Getting the power wire from the battery to the back of the...
And my friends think I'm a manual snob. Geez.
Watch the first couple minutes of this video. I looks pretty easy.
As the video goes on it shows how to remove the center console cover, if you ever want to do that.
NOTE: You do not have to remove the pad on the right of the console that...
The stalk looks like a standard intermittent wiper stalk. From top to bottom, the positions are:
Mist (push up)
Off
Auto (this is where INT would be)
Lo
Hi
Within the Auto position, you can turn the stalk for (I believe) 4 different settings. Those 4 settings apparently adjust the...
I just sent a note to Acura Customer Car about the auto lights and wipers. When (if?) they respond, I'll let you know what they say.
Here's what I sent them:
I admit it is pretty nit-picky and overall I couldn't be happier with the car. However, it would have been very easy for Acura to have the auto intermittent function a user selection in the settings. While they were doing that, they could have done the same for the headlights.
The auto lights are not nearly as frustrating to me as the auto intermittent wipers. The seem to go from too much of an interval to full fling-themselves-off-their-mounts speed for no apparent reason. I'd much prefer non-auto wipers. I'm more than capable of setting and adjusting the interval...
My passenger seat is only fore/aft and seatback angle. How long ago did you get the one with height adjustment?
Also, I tend to forget where some of the settings are. It usually boils down to hunting and pecking, because sometimes it doesn't make sense to me why they are where they are. The...
You can stop your headlights from coming on automatically, but turning on your parking lights. Of course, that will turn on your tail lights.
The wipers reset whenever the car is started. Not uncommon these days. One convenience I found out is you can manually put them into maintenance...
I checked resistance across one of the boxes, and there was none. Wanting to be 100% sureI broke one apart. There was nothing inside it except for a junction where the 2 wires going to the "t-connectors" for the tail lights were joined to one. I cut them off and I'm back in business. It's...
Facts be damned, I'm still not buying it. As much as I've seen the service monkeys fuck up the simplest tasks - probably because management is rushing them to get a job the book says takes 4 hours in 2 - as long as cars have hubs, I'm only going to use wheels with bores that match.
Okay. FORGET JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING I SAID BEFORE. Hopefully, the all caps adequately indicates the urgency and just how wrong I was.
After doing everything I wanted to do today and having some time before walking the dog - I swear to the gods his internal clock is more accurate than the one...
