I have a 2024 A-spec (automatic) with 7800 miles and it's still showing 40% oil life. Should I go this long on original factory oil?

Wow. That's a lot of miles. I can tell you this, the first two oil changes are on Acura. They won't change the oil until it is at least at 10% life. Also on the first oil change, they just change the oil and not the filter.

Interesting, had not heard about no filter (its $7, I would just spring for it) but in the manual code A is just oil technically. From other threads, the earliest a dealer seems to change it is at 15%.

Me personally, I wrench on cars and have no problem changing O/F with for $40 or so every 6mo/5-6K myself as I drive a fair amount of HW miles.

5.7 qt of free honda 0w20 twice and one Honda filter in 24m cost wise is really no big deal :D

my dealer said they will change at 15% oil life or 5000 miles as complementary service.
