Good news for the Civic, better news for the Integra since Acura desperately needs a hybrid model again and as a Prelude fan, hopefully a preview of the upcoming Prelude powerplant.

Also, if the Prelude base powertrain is the same as the Civic Hybrid, it leaves some hope that a sportier Prelude (Si or Type SH???) will show up at some point.

Your move, Acura. Are you going to keep accelerating into the EV wall with more GM products or take a breather and squeak out a few hybrids?

Back to Civics, I guess the SI will come later since they didn't mention killing it. The question is does it make sense to keep the L15 for one variant just so it can be a manual, or just offer the Prelude as the new SI and finally give us the coupe we've been begging for. This doesn't answer any questions for the Integra, but big powertrain and body style changes after only two model years would be strange. There might be uses for the L15 in other markets to justify keeping it around.

Acura has said that they don't plan to go hybrid, so I believe their going to stick with the turbo motors they use now. Once Honda's EV architecture is online, they'll move the lineup slowly over to EV.

Was that before or after the new NSX? ;)
Haha, that was after the NSX Type S was discontinued. But realistically, they’re going to do whatever the market calls for, so we’ll see…
