24 Integra A-spec, AC compressor doesn’t engage intermittently.

Sometimes, the A/C compressor will not turn on. Result is no cooling and no defrost. No pattern to when or different settings on panel. Turning the A/C on and off manually with the switch makes no difference. The car must be turned off and restarted, sometimes multiple times before the A/C compressor will engage.
I have not taken the car to the dealer yet because it’s not due for its first service and the dealer is an hour away. Has anybody experienced this ?

I thought my AC was messed up too but then realized it would stop working when ever the Stop/Start was engaged
