Hi, all -
Picked up a dreaded puncture on my way home from work yesterday. Luckily, I was able to limp to my local trusted shop, as I was close by. I have become accustomed to using run-flats on my cars and have come to enjoy the peace of mind with them. Lots of bad luck around here with punctures, as I live in a relatively congested area. Yesterday, reality set it in that I need to wrap my wheels in some run-flats.
I've always been a fan of Conti's, Pirelli, or Yokohama. Yokohama is out on this one. I've had good luck with Conti and Pirelli run-flats in the past. However, I'm having trouble finding run-flats that satisfy Acura's "W" speed rating. I was interested in some Conti's, but they are under the factory expectation and are rated at "V." Right now, on this platform, only thing I am coming up with for 235 40 18 is the Bridgestone Driveguard Plus. My tire guy is arriving at the same. I've never used Bridgestone and reviews are mixed on these.
I guess this is my long-winded way of asking:
1) Anyone running run-flats? If so, what are you using?
2) Anyone have experience with Bridgestone Driveguard Plus on any application? If so, what are your thoughts?
Thanks, everyone, as always.
