I am about 3 months away from returning to Canada and hopefully picking up my ITS. Have been on the waiting list a long time, and it looks like there is a good chance one of the colours I want will be available. I just got the pricing sheet from the dealership, and they added over $2500 in extras...including ceramic coating, "care" package which I think covers interior/exterior blemishes, etc...none of it is value added to me. Is this what I should expect or am I correct in assuming MSRP + whatever mandatory dealer fees are all I am willing to pay is fair? TIA.
In Canada we thankfully don't have straight up Dealer markups like the US, but forced accessories is the game they play here.

You have to decide how likely it is there's a buyer waiting behind you if you refuse. If in a heartbeat someone else will purchase it, you're SOL, pay the options.

Doesn't hurt to ask them to remove it, but if they know they'll have someone else, try to instead negotiate what they're offering. In my case I had $2500 of adders, but most of them I would have taken anyway.

TAG tracker, Sherlock OBD port protector, the Acura Protection package, and wheel locks. The only thing they added that I wouldn't have taken is the wheel and rim protection (1-year) and heck I even added the back of the seat covers for when you fold down the seats.

Agreeing to that and a $250 deposit got me, instead of someone else, into the car I couldn't fathom not owning in the color I absolutely wanted.

Thanks all for your replies...the dealership has been great to deal with, so I am hoping we can work something out. I am agreeing to floor mats, cargo tray, wheel locks, and the wheel/tire protection (this is something they didn't add in, but I usually like getting this option)...and then asked them to take out the "care" package and ceramic coating (I do this on my own with high quality products). Let's see what they say...seems fair to me :).

Does anyone know if the recent tariffs on US cars coming into Canada will affect ITS deliveries and pricing this summer? It’s all pretty confusing right now, trying to see if anyone has any ideas.

I don't think anything has been announced in regarding pricing changes from head office. Knowing how Honda Canada works these days, the dealerships likely haven't been notified of anything yet either.

Just heard that tariffs in Canada won't apply to cars from manufacturers who invest in Canada.

I know Honda makes cars in Canada, so they should not apply to Honda. Don't know if Acura will be considered Honda or not...

Yeah, that means Civic Sedan and CR-V are in the clear.

It appears US Honda is not making changes in price based on Kirks Kreifels video. Need to hear from Honda Canada...

There was a local dealer in B.C. that insisted on a ~$6000 “protection and care” package that they wouldn’t budge on. Needless to say, I went elsewhere. Different dealers will have their own mandatory BS - I haven’t seen one yet with straight MSRP.
That was the standard pricing in Vancouver last July, when I bought mine: MSRP + $6k in options. I checked several dealerships. Those that had cars were all doing the same thing.
Luckily, I was able to negotiate on what the $6k would be for. I got winter wheels, 7-year extended warranty, and a protection package. I would have gotten most of those anyway.
Supply, back then, was really inconsistent. The dealership I dealt with had 4 ITS's. All were sold within the 5 days it took for me to agree to purchase. About two months after that, there were no brand new ones to be found. But, there were a handful of "lightly used" ones for sale at effectively the same price I paid.
We are at the mercy of supply and demand reality.

I just heard from my dealer that the ITS price will stay the same but there will be a $999 admin fee added on. Colour fees also to increase. This is for an expected May delivery
I just took delivery of an ITS. There are honest dealers out there that don't charge extras or admin fees. Don't give in!
