Center console mystery

Came across this opening in the front charging cubby in the center console. Any idea what this is / what the purpose of it is?

I have seen that plastic cap that covers it posted quite a bit but dont know what its for. I would normally say its to put the car in Neutral with out a key...
It might be in the PDI documentation.

I think thats what it is. I guess that slot is there for both manual and auto cars.

Ahhhhh, that makes sense. I guess I’m missing the cover on mine. Thanks for the insight.

My cover fell off, luckily it was just sitting there on the charging pad. Was able to snap it back in and it hasn’t come out since.
