I had been wanting to replace the front and rear badges with red over black since I took delivery of the car, and today, got it done, I like the look.
Matches my bumper stickers along with the Type S badge and brakes, the red looks nice IMO.
I still have not seen another type S on the road, I did see an A spec in apex blue yesterday on the road, but no Type S.

Glad you like it. I just can't get into it.

The red looks so good on the Honda "H" but it doesn't look right to me with the Acura "A" - maybe it's the Honda "heritage" I don't know.

Curious - how'd you do it? Did you take off the "A" and put vinyl underneath or did you vinyl around it?

Dropped the bumper, pulled the badge, laid the red over the black, installed the Acura badge and put it all b ack together, I paid a friend with a shop to do it for me.

I'm actually ok with that, I would hate to see others do the same thing, I like having a slightly different Type S, even though, so far, I have not seen another in the wild, I have only seen 3 other A specs even.

Type S in the house!
That is Red. I wonder how the engine cover red would look.

Did the same except red is inlayed into emblem, no removing badges.

I saw your post on facebook, I got mostly the same comments when I did mine, including the old rudolf joke from dc5 days.

I like the look on blue also, good job.

Mine was done as a test with left over vinyl so it is a bit too bright. But i liked it so I left it.

Took the Oracal swatch book out to my car last week when I was visiting the detailer and tried to match the red "s" in the type s badges. I think I found a much closer match, will order a sample and test it.

I don't hate it on the blue, but in pics the red appears off just a bit. On white it looks good, kind of like the classic Integra.

This looks a lot better to me on white than on the blue. I'm not sure why? Maybe it's the whole championship white type R with red nostalgia/association/whatever.

That's probably it - the JDM integras had the red H badge.

I just picked up an Apex Blue Type S and it has the all black emblem and I like and will stick with that. But, how strict is Connecticut about the front plate? I hate that look, we picked up a new MDX A-Spec last Augus t and I have refused to put the front plate on and will do the same for my new Type S. They really don't care here in TX and until it is an issue I will ignore it.

Looks great with the chrome badge too, very nice.
If I find a better red, Ill swap it out, but until then, I really do enjoy the contrast.

I was concerned so I got a drill less front plate kit, it was $100 but I like it, it works great.

CT has been pretty relaxed on the front plate for a while now. I have driven without one for the past 7-8 years on my last couple leases. Drive around the state and there a quite a lot of cars either without a front plate or some kind of novelty front plate. I was told that no front plate is not grounds enough to get pulled over, but if they got you for something else, they can include it as an add-on penalty.

That is what had hoped for, I am going to leave this on for now, but at some point, I'll either get a better red or il just go black over blue and live with that.
