And for everyone's benefit, here's one of the big problems with the dealership model--inconsistencies in the buying experience, not just between regions/states/dealerships, but from one salesperson/transaction to another.Tried to negotiate the price of install of the heated steering wheel with the trade in I was doing but they weren’t having it so I said f it. I’ll buy it from someone else.
Keep in mind it was a "reservation system", not technically a pre-order--you're reserving a car to be delivered to the dealer of your choice so you can have the first shot at buying that particular vehicle. It's an extra allocation for the dealership (a win for them) and a way for you to beat the crowd (assuming you weren't already at/near the top of the list).I’m am getting increasingly annoyed (and I’m sure I’m not the only one) whenever I see others take delivery of white ITS’s (I think it’s the Canadian market?) mainly because I do not feel like the “pre-order” means anything at all. I’m happy for those people, just really feel let down with the delay and radio silence from Acura.
Good point. Which makes it even worse. Even sales people at dealerships emphasize the excitement of being one of the first to own the vehicle. TBH, I don’t mind waiting or not being the first. What bothers me is the silent treatment after taking my deposit. I'll be the first to admit that their marketing of these being "the first 200" was misleading/inaccurate, but the Terms & Conditions for the reservation process gives Acura a lot of wiggle room for how they fulfill these reservations.
Agreed 100%, it's really the poor communication and inconsistency. I had to wait weeks to even find out I got an allocation even though they took my $2k... Then to hear its on its way then, whoopsie, it's gone, don't worry, you will get it eventually, maybe, probably? Here is an email that it's at the dealer, and they didn't even bother to correct it...Good point. Which makes it even worse. Rub it in, why don't youI am sure this is all frustrating to those who put $2000 down and get radio silence. . .I'm very fortunate that I got to purchase my dealers demo for a very fair price, no deposit, no waiting, no markup.
Same build dates I was given..I was just on the phone with my salesman at Acura of Austin North. Production of my LCM pre-order was slated to end today (new build date of 7/10-7/14). Delivery ETA 7/28-8/3. He acknowledged there was an earlier build date previously but did not know why it was pushed back.
