Thanks for that - I'd prefer that method.I mailed it with just the Vin and my info. They later called me for the rest and emailed me the form.
Insure it. I wrapped it in a paper bag(paper is Anti-Static) then bubble wrapped. What does that mean? Also did you add bubble wrapping or anything? I have this worry that package could be lost or damaged. Sigh lol
Wish I were closer. Thanks for the Axion link! Ordered.FYI. Hondata will be in Ohio for their jailbreak tour in a few weeks.
Or have me unlock it instead. Purchase service from my website, follow instructions on the page, ship it in, and get it back unlocked / ready to flash.Dang, we have to write our CC info & send with the ECU? I don't mind shipping the ECU, but write down the CC info & send with the package?
I was looking this up late last night. Consider it done! Thank you sir.Or have me unlock it instead. Purchase service from my website, follow instructions on the page, ship it in, and get it back unlocked / ready to flash.
I'm cheaper than Hondata on this service also.

Not particularly, but... There's no reason to.Will definitely be sending to you.
Is there anyway to clone our factory ecu on a spare ecu?
Can you clarify... Does this mean:Not particularly, but... There's no reason to.
Honda's i-HDS system doesn't have any means of checking for the Bosch ECU's TPROT status. It can see the ECU software ID number and the number of key cycles since the last DTC-clearing event. If you take the vehicle to a dealer with with the factory ECU calibration uploaded, the software ID number will be correct and the number of key cycles since the last DTC-clear is irrelevant. A simple battery negative terminal lift is a DTC-clearing event.
They cannot tell whether the ECU has been unlocked or flashed, as long as the factory calibration is in place when plugged in to the system. Can you clarify... Does this mean:
(I) that they cannot tell whether or not your ECU has been unlocked / flashed?
Or
(II) that they cannot tell whether or not your current ECU is the original one?
Interesting. I've heard conflicting reports on this. It seems on FK8 (granted different ECU), there were a number of folks who had warranty work refused d/t tuning. Seems some reflashed to stock, others didn't. It also sounds like some of those who had work refused had logged over rev or over boost instances. (And all of this is hearsay, so... data leaves a lot to be desired, lol.)They cannot tell whether the ECU has been unlocked or flashed, as long as the factory calibration is in place when plugged in to the system.
I'm glad I didn't jump the gunI'm so effing (sorry) excited to learn about this now. Certainly provides some closure for a proper custom tune!
