Just a few months and/or location can make a big difference too.

I get a little jealous seeing people pay under MSRP or getting extras now as I felt like I struck gold finding my MSRP deal in Southern California back in February.
Life’s too short for that kind of regret. If you leave this mortal realm tomorrow, you’ll be happy to have enjoyed the car since February.

I never regret buying things that I can afford. I think the trick is to never stretch financially. Then people can live regret free and simply enjoy what they have (whether it cost a little or a lot).

Man, no truer words have been spoken but it's a hard habit to shake.

I do enjoy the car every time I take it out though. I think about that high school kid back in 1999 dreaming of a DC2 but knowing I'd never be able to afford it. 😅

I’m right there with you! I was working at Jiffy Lube back in those days and grabbed the keys whenever a customer pulled up with one, just so I could pull it into the bay! 😂

This car makes me smile every time I see it and it’s a joy to drive!

When reading the general price people paid like " 1k$ under MSRP", remember we don't have all of the facts. Did they have a trade-in? If so, the dealer may have under priced the amount paid for that car. Did they have a loan? If so, the dealer may have padded profit with a higher interest rate or other fees. Did they buy an extended warranty or other product that allowed the dealer to pocket profit outside of the MSRP? Not to mention some people just like to make up stories. All this to say, we may not have all the facts.
I had no trade in, got my own financing brought 17k to the table as a down payment.
I had a car from one dealer but they had 144 miles on it so I turned it down, when calling around and explaining this I found a very motivated dealer who was willing to beat the price I had been quoted which had been reduced because of mileage, so in the end with 3 or 4 accessories I paid 1k under the sticker which was 53595.99 when I bought, tax was 4200 and other fees, all told it was 58k out the door including the accessories.
Anything around or just under MSRP is great IMO.

It really, REALLY should be expected that these cars are going at or under MSRP at this point. Sure, a $3-5k discount would be surprising, but $1k to move a car when the market has softened this much is not.

For any who'd feel regret- ok, maybe there's some expectation to feel regret if you paid a substantial ADM. No one should have done that for this car, when MSRP deals have been pretty available since a few months after release. But if you got at or near MSRP and have been driving the car for several months, then don't give it a second thought. Sure, if you waited there would be a higher chance you got a better deal, I don't think anyone would have argued that at any point since last summer- But I personally am thrilled that I've had this thing for almost exactly a full year. Getting a $1k better deal is not enticing enough to have foregone that experience.

End of the day, this is an Acura product that is not an NSX. It should be a perfectly reasonable expectation that anyone who wants one can get one without too much consternation. I'm glad to see that's where things appear to have landed.
