Im 55 also, lot of us Gen Xers here it seems.I am also 55 and bought an ITS in July. Just go enjoy it when you acquire it next year. I enjoy the pops, too. Iām going to keep driving manual cars until I physically canāt anymore.
This car was on my short list for a while, but I never located one at the right time. Glad I held out for a A-Spec (I'm 63) but I'd be interested in your experience with the Buick.2012 Regal GS headache
The positives on my 2012 Regal GS: it had great acceleration with its 270HP, and was a nice looking car. The negatives: Had to buy replacements for front headlight assemblies which failed due to leaks (~$700 for non-GM parts). The leaking and failing front headlight assemblies was a frequent problem for Regal owners, and really there is no excuse for this. Also had to replace rear bearings, and a turbocharger. The engine failed at about 105k miles, which perhaps was merciful, because that finally forced me to dump the car. The GS 21" wheels meant short tire sidewalls which easily blew out on 3 tires - not at high speed but during low speed things like pulling into a Quik Chek parking lot. I had to replace those 3 tires because of sidewall damage, and eventually I bought replacement 18" wheels so I could use real tires, for all 4 wheels. This car was on my short list for a while, but I never located one at the right time. [/QUQUOTEwhen gen x has reached their 50s those next generation 30s somehow hit harder.
Sounds fun to drive but hard ($$$) to own. I had a turbo fail on my Saab, but that was around 175K miles. Failing under 100K would be unacceptable to me. God willing, I'll see 200kmiles+ from the Integra.finally forced me to dump the car
Soooo...we currently live in Ireland and will be returning home to Canada next year. I have a deposit in at a local Canadian dealer to get one back half of next year. I will be turning 55 end of next year. How old is too old for this car? I am a huge car enthusiast and have owned many amazing cars (including the original ITR back in the day, several M cars, a P car, Audi S models, etc...). Something about the ITS just speaks to me...sporty, beautiful, manual, with enough creature comforts.
I am hoping to drive the ITS as my really fun daily driver (that is also spacious, safe, reliable), and buy a really fun collectable car (BMW 1M?) to pamper every weekend.
