Brake System & Parking Sensor Errors

Got my car back today. Dealer said that engineering at Acura didn't know what to make of the codes so they just replaced all the rear bumper back up sensors

First thing I noticed upon receipt is my car was filthy. It looked like it sat in a gravel lot in the rain for a week straight and was parked in a puddle. They gave me a free car wash voucher..

Next, they consumed all the fuel in the tank and left me with <20 miles estimated range. At that point I told the service advisor and said whatever I'll just fill the tank up and not come back. I'll be going to a different Dealer in the future even if it's a longer drive. Not sure what customer service I can contact but that is definitely not customer service and is downright disrespectful.

When I started driving I noticed that I can now hear the blowoff valve when I shift. I looked and didn't see any intake piping disconnected. Is this normal? Previously I couldn't hear it at all. I did log the boost when I first got the car and it was well below what it should have been, maybe they noticed and fixed this? I'll look more into this once there's light tomorrow.

Drove the car again after checking for intake leaks, no more BOV Choo choo. Big sad. 16 year old me loved it.

I'm assuming they hadn't closed the hood properly as I no longer hear the new whining of the transmission that had appeared after picking it up either. (Not alarmining whining, sounded like gears engaging. I hyperanalyze a lot of things don't take this as something was broke)

Man, just lemon law that thing if you can. It's obviously a defective unit, not to mention your dealer seems embarrassingly inept.

Sorry you've had so much trouble with a brand new car. I like my Integra a lot, but one of the reasons we choose these cars is because of Honda/Acura reliability and quality. If that were missing from the equation like it is for you, I'd be rid of it in a heartbeat.

Hopefully whatever you move to next doesn't give you any issues.

Sorry you've had so much trouble with a brand new car. I like my Integra a lot, but one of the reasons we choose these cars is because of Honda/Acura reliability and quality. If that were missing from the equation like it is for you, I'd be rid of it in a heartbeat.

Hopefully whatever you move to next doesn't give you any issues.

Haven't reached lemon law territory yet. We're barely over halfway through, sadly.

Just got a call from the dealerships GM. Wants me to take down my Google review and will wash my car and fill my tank

I told him I'll give him a chance but if he fucks this up I'll make sure the world knows. I informed him that the problem is back (hadn't called about it yet). Also asked if we have any options or if I have to wait to lemon the car.

I can't imagine this happens so often that a multi-billion dollar corporation like Honda/Acura can't just say something like:

"We will be taking your car back and giving you a new one, here's the keys to a loaner until we can deliver your new car to you."

Imagine how your Google review would read if they did that.

I mean, Toyota basically did that for the BZ4x with the wheel issue. They offered customers either a full refund, or a loaner vehicle until their BZ4x could be repaired properly.

The lemon law is not what you should have to invoke with an Acura. You buy new to avoid this type of aggravation.

I am not. Is there a good way to go about that? I saw their "contact" page after reading your post, is that the preferred method?

This is actually the first vehicle I've bought new (for myself, the wife gets treated better than me) and this whole experience has left me disappointed.

I was upfront with both the GM and the SA this time that I will start the lemon process if we reach that threshold. Neither one offered me anything other option.

I was told this time there was an engineer scheduled to arrive Thursday. I'm not holding my breath since the last 2 times they've said they were bringing an engineer out and didn't.

This time I was sent home in a red MDX. Initial impression: I can't believe this thing starts at $50k and doesn't come standard with a heated steering wheel or remote start. Acura is really missing the mark on this whole "luxury" image they are shooting for. The v6 in this thing feels gutless compared to the turbocharged 4 cylinders I've grown accustomed to. The "road departure mitigation" system does not appear to have a way to fully disable and is incredibly intrusive; it tried to veer me into another lane while cornering on the highway on the drive home. The transmission can't seem to choose between a lower gear with vcm active or a higher gear and be the v6 it is. The gear hunting and vcm cycling is extremely reminiscent of the 2009 accord I drove for a while. #progress

MDX followup: this thing is squishy. The brake pedal feels squishy, the seats feel squishy, the ride is squishy, the steering is squishy. It wallows over bumps, even compared to the 18 sierra I used to drive.

No ELS sound and I can safely say it has nothing on the els. Nothing at all. The els is in a class of its own compared to this.

The hatch is broken. It just beeps at me and half-unlatches before relaunching at the next click.

Android auto compatibility is on par with the integra - that is I have already had an issue when there was no issue prior.

I found the Lane departure mitigation off selection. There is a separate button to the left of the steering wheel that pulls the function menu up on the dash to turn it off. Strangely, the low, med, high, settings are in the infotainment as it is in the integra. This seems like an engineering oversight.

It's a 2022 SHAWD. I don't know of any other packages it has. I think everything is base besides the awd. The steering wheel has power tilt and telescoping. It helps with seating comfort significantly over the RDX. I know most of my height is leg, but it felt like I was being punished for this driving the RDX.

Between the MDX and RDX, I still prefer the RDX. There is no comparison between the V6 and the 2.0T. The MDX powertrain feels dated in comparison.

I may be slightly spoiled regarding luxury features because of the aforementioned sierra. It was completely loaded and it cost me basically the same as the integra. Granted, it was 2019 before the car market went insane when I got it and had taken a 30% hit from the original msrp by the time I purchased it.

I agree. Lemon law is a fail safe for jerk dealers and manufacturers. Acura needs to step up and not force you down that path.
