Also, wait. The dealer demo received the carbon fiber stuff, so what gives?

Oh gotcha. Do you not like the carbon fiber stuff?
Spoiler is good looking but pricey and I don't think it really matches anything in carbon fiber. I might go with the third party option that has the same design but in gloss plastic. Mirror caps just stick on top of the factory caps which I think is garbage for $600 price tag.

I think it looks better than the stock spoiler it comes with. Almost a must have unless you have black or white

Agreed, with so much gloss black I am not bothering with CF, doing a gloss black PPF wrap on the mirrors (and maybe roof) instead. They do sell full CF replacement caps though if that's what you really want. Also not a fan of drilling the hatch to install the spoiler...

Doesn't it just adhere like the normal one? The adhesives they got are real strong nowadays.

No, accessory spoiler requires drilling, check the install guide. Guessing aftermarket options will be tape/glue on.

I have basically the same spoiler on my car, I taped it because I didn't want to make it irreversible. Was a big mistake, it's isn't falling off but it also moves if you press on it which drives me crazy.

For the price it should snap on and not be some 3M tape like it's something that came from ebay.

Gotcha, I probably won't get it then. With my Tiger Eye Pearl I plan on going for contrast with body pieces. The side molding and splash guards will be crystal black pearl.
