I just turned 66 and have deposits on the ITS and a Nissan performance Z ,after almost a 2 year wait was just informed my Z just went into production, a few days later was informed the ITS should arrive end sept. early oct. Having a difficult time deciding which one to take.
I think the correct answer is BOTH 😁

Age doesn't matter. Being able to safely operate the vehicle does. If you can do that, then go for it. Life's short. Enjoy the things you want as long as you aren't hurting anyone or making things less safe for others.

Soooo...we currently live in Ireland and will be returning home to Canada next year. I have a deposit in at a local Canadian dealer to get one back half of next year. I will be turning 55 end of next year. How old is too old for this car? I am a huge car enthusiast and have owned many amazing cars (including the original ITR back in the day, several M cars, a P car, Audi S models, etc...). Something about the ITS just speaks to me...sporty, beautiful, manual, with enough creature comforts.

I am hoping to drive the ITS as my really fun daily driver (that is also spacious, safe, reliable), and buy a really fun collectable car (BMW 1M?) to pamper every weekend.
It is not the age, but the physical/mental condition. Professional racing requires quite a bit of endurance, so age will play an important factor, but a little bit of play at the track or on the street doesn't require so much stamina. Buy this car, it is easy to drive, but still a handful.

it’s gonna make you feel 25! So You won’t be 55 once you get it😜!
It’s is a Time Machine to me, let’s me show my kids about cars I grew up with, not the electric ones they’ve only really experienced. Hell I got a “nice car dude” from a kid at my kids school dropping them off.

Just remember windows down and you don’t need to shift till the garages start flashing 😝.

You're never too old. I'm in your age demographic and actually think this is the perfect daily driver. I already have a weekend car so this will be my daily. I do understand what you're saying, while I respect the FK8 R, as much as it's beloved, it's completed overwrought. That rear is just awful. I could never show up at work with one! :)

You’re too old for a car once your health starts failing and you can no longer drive it in a safe manner. Otherwise I’ve never bought into the argument there’s an upper age limit on a new car purchase. If you’re concerned what others may think, keep in mind it doesn’t matter what you buy as there will always be someone out there to judge you for it in one way or another.
Very well said sir, thanks!

Thanks all for your comments...I know forum members can't make the decision for me, but it is great to see a wide range of ages enjoying this amazing car. Looking forward to learning as much as I can until I get the car next year :).

You are younger than this old female person. I’ll be 58 when you get your car. Got my ‘23 blue manual a year ago and love it.

So, my wife does groan a little getting out, whilst I resist the urge to do so 😂 (we're both 45).
Having said that I use it to commute 55km each way, 5 days a week and love it.
