Just a heads-up, for what it's worth. I had the second service done on my ASpec last week. This comes up as B1, which is oil change, tire rotation, and brake inspection. Apparently Acura only covers the oil change and tire rotation. $150 for the brake inspection. I question the necessity of that on a car with 18,000 miles.

Depends where you live. If you have winters and salt on the roads, I would even do it every year regardless of mileage. But not just an inspection, you have to disassemble the brakes, remove rust, lube and reassemble. Hope this is what they do for 150$!

They'll always try to get something out of you. Free oil change is to get you into the place. Your car shouldn't need anything for a long time, unless you are literally abusing it...

Fuel injector cleaner/fuel system cleaner coming next.

I would think the brake check would be part of the free Multi-point inspection. I'd refuse to pay this.

$150 to literally look at the pads. Lol.

Speaking of which, I REALLY need to find a solid Honda performance shop near me.

I’m already looking forward to wearing down the oem pads to get something that produces less dust - it’s insane. But they perform well, so no biggie.

I have been thinking about using this method for oil change just during warranty - do my own at 5k (next week) with Amsoil 0w20 signature series & don’t hit the reset switch, take it to dealer for next 5k oil change, repeat until warranty is done & then switch to signature series.

Not trying to start the great oil debate here, but I do plan on tracking more & more, drive it hard on the street, & plan on keeping this vehicle so I’m planning long term. The Sig Series isn’t technically API certified.

Yeah. Lots of dust but no pulsing brakes yet unlike my Aspec.

Wow, I wasn’t aware the Aspec had pulsing issues! Frustrating I’m sure.

Yeah, it’s weird that if I spray the dust off on the way home & drive barely over 5 minutes back home & they’re coated again & just driving normally, not hard. The matte appearance from the dust on the anthracite color looks like crap compared to the true color. Lol

Maybe it's how I drive🤷 usually higher speeds then you hit traffic so I am kind hard on them at times.

I actually asked them to take off this free maintenance, in change give me a discount on the purchase of the car. My sales person looked at me like I was crazy, and told me he couldn’t take it off. I don’t like anyone messing with my car and I also enjoy working on it.

Wow. That's BS. The brake inspection should be part of the free multipoint inspection. I just had one when I went in for my accessories install. It was a 0.00 line item.

I think I will utilize the free service while it's available but going DIY afterwards and just maintain a record like my other cars. With that said, I'm at ~1k miles and the oil life monitor still says 100%... Not sure I want to wait until 10k miles for the 1st oil change.
I have become a firm believer in doing oil changes every six months. I have done a lot of research and much of it suggests the 10k oil change is "guaranteed" to get you through the warranty period, but not if you are seeking longevity of the car. Especially when considering our turbo charged cars. A significant portion of the cooling comes from the oil, so you want to keep the oil in good condition. Old oil is thick oil, which will restrict flow, then reduce cooling. Just my opinion...

I prefer to do oil changes myself, but I will take advantage of free high quality oil changes. They must use a good synthetic oil.
