Hello, I am currently a week or two away from picking up my new Integra Type S! As you can see, I am very new here, and I was mainly just making this post to ask if there is anything that I should know about the car? I wasn't really planning on getting one of these as I didn't really know they existed since the start of April, but I was initially looking to get a new mazda3 hatchback (I'm a big mazda guy) and happened to find out about this car when I stopped by an acura dealer to see if they had any interesting cars. I test drove one that was at my local dealer a couple days later and I loved how it drove, sounded, and looked and I immediately fell in love with the car. I'm new to these honda/acura cars as I thought they were always kinda funky, niche cars that had a somewhat interesting cult following (My best friend is a honda guy). The most I know about honda/acura is that the type r and type s have been getting some amazing feedback and that it is the first sporty honda that I've liked. I don't really know much about either honda or aucra post purchase experience but I would imagine it is pretty standard/good. I don't plan to do much to the car besides maybe an intake, exhaust, or an aftermarket shifter, and I also do not plan to track the car. This car for me is supposed to be a fun daily driver that is manual so I can practice manual while off the track. Fell free to throw any information at me as I am always open to learning something new, or to ask me something about my miata's as I know a lot about those.

Also, the car is the Tiger eye color with the black interior.

I also don't really know where to post this as there didn't seem to be any appropriate place on the type s part of the forum, so feel free to redirect me to a better place to post this if there is

Thank you!

It's a unique car that I smile at every time I park and look back at it. Get some springs, downpipe, intake ,and a tune. You will be loving it.

Ok, I think Iā€™m going to keep everything suspension wise stock, however, what kind of power gains would the Downpipe and intake add? Iā€™d also like to ask if I should keep the car stock everything for a bit as that is what I was planning on doing since Iā€™m coming from a 2013 x5 with 237k miles that is probably making something like 250hp. I have also never driven fwd before and this car (to me) makes 320hp but Is actually a sporty hp coming from what I drive currently.

A down pipe, tune ,and maybe larger Intercooler and your pushing close to 400hp/400tq...93 octane required of course.

While Honda did great things with the front suspension, its still FWD and will lose traction i2nd and 3rd gear stock.

I suppose there are those who want more wheelspin and torque steer?

Now *that* is a cult :p

I bought mine for nearly the same reason, I just wanted a fun reliable car and Honda makes a great engine.
I love the car, it is easy to drive yet super fun too.
The two issues with these cars, are they are a little expensive, and they have some odd quirks to save weight and money, but I think those make the car even more special.
I love my Apex Blue Type S.
Welcome and enjoy.

Welcome! Your experience is similar to mine in that I didn't know the Type S was coming out, saw it in a news story, then took a chance to see if my dealer had one and would let me test drive it. They sure did, and I fell in love immediately! So impressed with what it could do, how it felt, and how it sounded. Congrats and enjoy it! I've had mine about 8 months and have loved every minute of it.

Yeah. Ever since I put the deposit down on the car Iā€™ve been thinking about if I shouldā€™ve gotten the mazda3 just because of the 10mpg difference in efficiency. However, I just think back to when I got to test drive an ITS and think about how much I enjoyed that

I was planning on getting the premium floor mats that have the metal type s logo. I wasnā€™t sure if they are any good or better than the regular mats, but I donā€™t think I will get any weatherproof mats since I have never needed them. Especially since I carry a second pair of shoes in my car on a daily basis, not because of the floor mats, but because Iā€™ve been too lazy to take them out and they come in handy every now and then.

WELCOME TO THE CULT!!!!
My opinion is a little biased from my background with the original JDM type-r B18C engine.
So I have always been a honda/acura fan.
The ITS is a special breed that you either love or don't.
I don't think there is much in between.
There are a few annoying quirks with the car that should NOT EXIST in this car segment BUT>>>>
The amazing engagement from the manual transmission and the awesome power from the K20 immediately make you forget the quirks when the light turns green.

There are a handful that get it and sell it and then some like myself that hopefully have a long lasting relationship with this beautiful machine called the ITS..

Okay that ^^ sounds like an AI generated script..
