Excellent suggestions here. I would do the etching and finish with some strong urethane clear-coat. I'm leaning towards a metallic grey-type finish.
Oh, a metallic grey that's a close match to the grey trim would look really good!!

Personally, I've liked spar urethane for things that need more durable finishes. If it's good enough for wood boats in the ocean, it's good enough for me. I've even shot the stuff through my lvlp gun and it does great! Sometimes a little dilution helps.

Are the black ones you are referring to Honda or Acura? I'd love to know. The more I look at the stock, shiny silver knobs, the more I want them replaced. I don't see why I couldn't simply take them off, spray them with a more attractive color?
The latest gen 23-25 accord (I only know this because Iā€™m in them every day lol) has black AC knobs. It appears to be the exact same size and housing. The LED screens are actually separate. I am not familiar with any TLX or other Integra paint codes that have the same trim. I have not attempted to swap the two because I canā€™t get my hands on the knobs. Tried to order one and got an LED screen instead.

Acura Integra Control Knob Trim - What Do You Think? 1723208349710-cs

According to this diagram from Dreamshop, looks like only the center one is a separate piece. The left and right are attached to the displays.

Part numbers for anyone interested:
Left (#3 in diagram) - 79624-3W0-A01ZA
Center (#4 in diagram) - 79626-3W0-A01ZA
Right (#2 in diagram) - 79623-3W0-A01ZA

These are $67-76 each on Dreamshop but you can likely find them for cheaper by just searching the part numbers on Google.

Prices are actually fairly accurate about $50 each. I was thinking about just getting an entire used unit console assembly which I have found for <$150 because I already got sent one wrong part and am out $50. The parts diagram does not make sense to me. Diagram is telling me each one of those knobs is a custom LED? And only one has removable knob? Very unlike Honda in my opinion

Very spastic update - I ordered 79610-30A-K51ZB from a disassembled Accord. Says itā€™s even in working condition, all 3 knobs (and screens) for $154 incl tax and shipping šŸ˜ will be attempting to swap only knobs, not the entire unit. Will post another update after install, will be very sad for my $200 if this doesnā€™t work šŸ˜…

this is after ordering 79624-3W1-C31ZA and only being sent an LCD screen, no knob.

Interesting, I had a different part number for the whole assembly. Digging further into this, looks like you were looking at the Hybrid Sport and I was looking at the EX - I wonder if one of them has cooled seats and the other doesn't. The knobs/LCDs are the same part numbers for both (but different for the Integra, probably because of the knob color).

I have a feeling someone may have screwed you and should have included the knob along with the rest of it. The part description says "Mirror black" for the Accord, which sounds like the knob color. What's confusing is for the Integra it says "Neutral black", but they are silver.

In either case, sounds like the assembly you found is a better deal - shouldn't be too hard to swap the screens and knobs and call it a day. Just be sure to compare the pins and wiring so your car doesn't go kaboom.

I'll be looking forward to that update with pics, please! I "thought" you could just pull the knobs off and replace them. Do we actually have to remove the whole center console piece?

So the red ones were really tacky, but, these are what I really wanted the first time I started thinking about replacing them with Accord knobs. And cheaper. I can tell you from having the red knobs, they have a nice tactile feel to them. I think I'll give these a try.

UPDATE: I received these new knob covers yesterday and I like them. They accomplished what I wanted to do and helped tone down those shiny silver stock knobs that look somewhat cheap, actually.

GOT EM!!! And my suspicion was correct, exact same unit with the exact same fit for trim piece. These pop right out of the assembly with a gentle wiggle. THIS IS SO WORTH IT IF THESE WERE SOLD SEPARATE!!!! I have a bad feeling that this trim piece is considered a part of the control unit assembly and will not be sold separately. You can still find these control units for cheap out of crashed cars.
