I'll also point out the its has no 1:1 gear, so doing a pull in 5th and adjusting the dyno metric to 0.93:1 for gear ratio is correct.

Just theorizing, but if the shop assumed it was 1:1, the specific car model wasn't available on the spec sheet, or they simply forgot to change a manual adjustment, and then you account for the 0.93 he'd be sitting around 376 to 387whp. Seems closer to his dreams.

It's 2024 and I still see 80%+ of car enthusiasts who still don't know the difference between turbo lag and turbo threshold.

If they can't manage that I don't expect most of the population to ever understand the intricacies of "measuring horsepower" with a ton of variables.
Some car "enthusist" will use AAA to change their tire for them. So this does not suprise me in 2024.
