Say whaaaaat?

The PDR person I talked to said our roof area is actually very thin and easily dented. It just takes a lot of force to fix and doesn't fully dent out. You can still see them under a dent light, but can be 98%.

The a to c pillar single piece ladder area I have multiple public sources and pictures of Honda and acura cars from 2016 to 2025 MY with dents all along the area from minor pressure input (like leaning against the car or resting your forearms on it). It takes roughly 25 to 30 lbs across a person's palm to dent it, and 99% of people don't notice unless they wash and detail their car (which let's be honest, the average person just doesn't).

I was also surprised to learn this from my PDR guy, having seen your experience documented here. However I also watched the branch fall on my car and I was shocked that the damage was as limited as it was. I’ll try to get more technical info out of him when I pick the car up… panel thickness, grade of steel, etc.

My wife’s ‘19 Accord also has a dent along the roof rail, towards the rear, from a falling branch. It’s much smaller than the one on my car so we haven’t bothered to repair it. But otherwise neither of our Accords ever had a problem with random pressure dents. I detail my own cars and certainly would have noticed.

Your experience is a certainly cause for concern. That would be very frustrating to deal with. In my case I’m actually thankful my car got hit because my daughter was maybe 10’ from the car and it could have been catastrophic. Had the repair not been possible via PDR, rather than chop the roof and repaint the car I considered leaving it as a reminder to be thankful.

However it works out, the white did a great job hiding the dents when they were at their worst, so anything they can fix will only benefit from that.

Omg, thats terrifying with your daughter nearby!

I'm glad to hear she was okay! Falling branches are no joke.

Yeah, it's also possible the sheet metal is thin, but the ladder framing is strong.

I hope the dents turn out well for you! Mine went okay. I can see them under my detailing light, but under daylight they're mostly gone.

Guys, I am realizing I don’t really love the black wheels I put on my car. I’m new to owning a white car and thought it would look good to do the black/white combo, but the wheels get lost in the mix. Maybe I need to just live with it a while longer, but I’ve been daydreaming about the Apex EC7 in race silver and 18x9.5 +45.

The VS-5RS is obviously a great looking wheel, and 3.4lbs lighter, but I’m not sure if it’s worth 2x the cost to me. I’ve also found a lightweight wheel can make the suspension feel stiffer so I’m not trying to make too drastic a change. The ML10RT also has some nice finish options, but may be a little too busy for my tastes. Motorsport gold with a machined lip could look cool though… what do you think?

Silver looks awesome! I don't like the two-tone wheel. Seems out of place on a modern car to me.

Have you considered painting the wheels in a mirror black? It reflects a lot more and looks a lot better than a gloss or matte.

I’ve toyed with the idea… I had black chrome accents on my accord and really liked it. I am currently dealing with the same issue on my Legacy - for years I had wheels with a machined face, and figured I’d try an anthracite wheel for a change. Nope! Hated it! Shipping them back to Tire Rack for a 25% loss plus freight, and having my old wheels refurbished with a darker grey inset and freshly machined face. The refurb is slightly less expensive than the set of wheels I’m returning, so I’m only out a couple hundred for the experiment.

I realize anthracite is not the same as black chrome, but I think I just like bright wheels on my own cars. So I’m hesitant to spend the money for something I’m not 99% sure I will like 100% of the time.

That's fair.

With white, I've always like darker gold (not bronze) and burnt dark blue finishes.
