  1. Do we have any torque settings / tips for a DIY spring swap ?

I went straight back to the dealership where i bought the car. I could be wrong for Acura, but in the VW / Audi world, Hunter made a slightly customized machine for the dealerships. So with that in mind i've only ever gone to the dealership for my alignment.
  2. Do we have any torque settings / tips for a DIY spring swap ?

My before and after alignment settings. Got the tire fixed also.
  3. Do we have any torque settings / tips for a DIY spring swap ?

  4. Do we have any torque settings / tips for a DIY spring swap ?

OK got it done tonight !!! it went soooooooooooo much better. Had a friend help me... I'm going to give some tips. 1.\ Don't bother with the spring compressor, its absolutely not needed. Maybe if you're doing it by yourself, but with two of you, one of you push down on the spring and the other...
  5. Are all the screws in the Type S - JIS Standard ?

I do, they are most definitely JIS. I had the wheels off, tonight and the rotor screw is JIS meaning they're all going to be JIS. it even has the little dot. So i suspect a lot of people strip that mofo out, especially once its slightly rusted on. You all need to get yourselves a set of JIS...
  6. Lifting the car for servicing

i just went ahead and added two more Pittsburgh harbor Freight 2,5ton floor jacks, (they look strikingly similar to my two other Costco Arcan branded floor jacks) so i can just do all four corners by the pinch welds at the same time, running around the car a bit jacking erm away ? :headbang...
  7. Are all the screws in the Type S - JIS Standard ?

Curious, given its a Japanese auto, but assembled in the US. (My first Jap auto BTW) In case you didn't know, all Jap bikes use the JIS standard for all their screws (which fortunately isn't too many as most are bolts or hex), but on stuff like the brake resevoir, they 100% use JIS which looks...
  8. ITS or other performance vehicle?

I actually can't believe VW is heading down this road of automatics only. Shitty non tactile buttons, dumb sliders, having to go into menu's just to change the fan speed. It'll be like starting my washing machine, having to up the fan speed ! Well the one silver lining is that life long VW...
  9. ITS or other performance vehicle?

i got an apex blue with black interior for MSRP 2 weeks ago. i did have to pay for the add-ons though. Copper wheels, carbon tail, carbon mirrors, blacked out badges. Came from a Golf Autobahn and loving the ITS. Definitely get one !
  10. Do we have any torque settings / tips for a DIY spring swap ?

I tried installing my springs tonight and REALLY struggled. I just couldn't get the strut out of the knuckle. Not by just loosening the two 17mm pinch bolts, and both sway bar links from both sides. I jigged it around back and forth, used pry bars, WD40 and one i sort of got maybe nearly out...
  11. Do we have any torque settings / tips for a DIY spring swap ?

Thanks it would appear that most bolts / nuts are use new, in other words they're stretch bolts, and the true torque settings won't be the same after they've been already torqued in a previous application... Mind you, i'll be honest, i just re-used all my bolts on all my installs, and never...
  12. Clutch impressions?

i immediately turned off the Rev Matching, but yes there is a little rev hang, but i don't find it a problem. i think the combination of a high bite point and the slight rev hang probably exaggerated the rev hang for you.. or it may have had rev matching turned on...
  13. Do we have any torque settings / tips for a DIY spring swap ?

I have just over 500miles on my 10 day old Type S. I'll be receiving my eibach pro kit springs and my bonoss spacers this weekend. I'm thinking about changing the springs on Sunday, then following up with an alignment in i dunno 200 miles or so. I've never owned a Honda or Acura before...
  14. Clutch impressions?

I came from two manual gti's so have 9 yrs of muscle memory to contend with. Anyway, i found the point a little high, and it felt weird at first. Just like the shifting felt tight compared to the sloppyness of the gti's. Now that I'm at 500miles, the feeling different is going away. its just...

Thank you, that stance looks perfect. Your car is gorgeous !!!! Just ordered them from the bosnoss website... i used promo code XMA17 and they're being delivered for $325 for the A7075 forged ones. (probably overkill but oh well) lol .Anyway i went with 15F and 20R also ordered some eibach...

TBH i don't know. They may be in one of the four boxes that the original wheels were in. They're certainly not attached to the wheel that i looked at. Even if they're not, i'll just accept it as it. As long as i can transfer them over to the new set of wheels if need be. So if i was to decide...
  17. New 2024 owner here !

So just to update, i did indeed receive the wheels and original OEM leather steering wheel from the dealer. So i basically have a brand new set of OEM wheels, that will most likely be going up for sale soon. Actually i'm really thinking about also selling the copper wheels and getting some...

All black. Which i'm happy about. Not sure i'd be sold on the red or white accents.
  19. New 2024 owner here !

Internet sleuth. ;) You are indeed correct. Hey being a sleuth, how do i turn off this annoying seat belt chime ? I coded it out on any VW / audi i've owned for the last 15yrs. Lets just say i've grown very accustomed to not being nanny'd by my own car. YES i do wear my seatbelt, but if i'm...
  20. New 2024 owner here !

I did not. Just the copper color wheels that were on the car. I thought that's how it came from the factory. but i could be wrong. might be worth a call to them tomorrow.
