I’ve had my car for almost 3 months now, and I just realized this button exists and what it does 🤣

I guess it can come in handy in certain situations, but I've used it only to experiment. I don't use it for the same reason I don't use the parking brake more, it's electronic. If the battery dies, you can't release the brake before getting the car started. I know, not likely, but I always consider where the car is parked before applying the parking brake.

I mostly leave my car in gear. I don’t really ever have to park on inclines. It’s also feeezing fucking cold in Ohio right meow. I don’t want my e brake to freeze up. Didn’t think about the battery thing honestly. Never had a battery go bad on me

Leaving your car in gear on a incline will not hold the car. You have to use the parking brake.
I use brake hold all the time at stop lights.
While it's not a best practice, I don't believe that it's totally fair to say that leaving it in gear will not hold the car. First and reverse are both very low gears in this car, and it takes considerable force to move the engine. If I park on a steep incline, I engage the brake. It's easy enough to test though. With an assistant, park in gear, get out and try to push the car. And remember, there will ordinarily be no outside force trying to move the car. But, your point is well taken, and engaging the brake is without doubt the safer option.

Do it and post a video then.

I'll give it a try this afternoon. Not sure if I can recruit an assistant, but I have a place in mind where I can safely park on an incline and at least try it myself. It's an incline on which I would normally use the brake, so it might be a good test. If you see a news report about some nitwit chasing his car down a hill, you'll know the result!

Okay, I did my little experiment. I parked uphill on a grade, one on which I would normally engage the brake, put it in first gear and shut down. I got out and pushed against the rear of the driver door frame, which is why I used an uphill grade. I could not move the car. Now, does that mean it's a recommended or safe practice? No. I know my comfort level and circumstances under which I will omit engaging the parking brake. But you should not make a similar decision without doing your own due diligence. Be safe.

I have only used the brake hold a few times myself. Has anyone else noticed when you are on a incline at a stop when you move your foot of the brake over to the gas there is a slight hold that prevents the car from rolling back while making the transition? I love that little feature.

That's the hill hold feature, totally separate from brake hold.

I meant first gear only and no e brake engaged, but that's a totally different topic from this one.

What do you guys use brake hold for?

I get the concept, but I haven't found a useful context.

It's just a convenience that allows the car to remain stopped while you take your foot off the brake pedal. I think it encourages a bad habit. If you want the car stopped, I think you should be taking some affirmative action to do it.
