Hi. I am considering a type S but it's not possible to test drive near me. I can wait for one but I'm wondering what owners can tell me about the clutch feel. Is it a heavy clutch to push down? Is it short or long? Etc. I drive in a fair amount of stop and go. My Miata clutch is very light. Had an audi and that was pretty light also but my older Subaru was a burden on the knees to keep pressing up and down. Thanks!

i've had numerous that i would generally classify two as more stiff (Camaro SS1LE, 718 GT4) ... the rest have all been light in comparison (F80 M3, '22 Si) and I would definitely consider the Integra to be on the lighter side. The length is something I haven't noticed being super long or short honestly. I don't spend a ton of time in stop & go traffic and I also dont' have any knee injuries *knock on wood* so I am not super sensitive either.

can you at least sit in one and feel the spring? you wouldn't be able to sense the grab point but could be helpful. also you should try to find a used ITS or CTR to test drive somewhere.

good luck!

It's quite light, but for traffic I think the travel is a bit long. I also think the pickup/bite point is a little high, but you'll get used to it.

If this is your reservation about the car I wouldn't worry about it.

Maybe someone local on here will let you drive one? Or try and test drive a CTR?

The ITS clutch is perfect for daily driving, not too hard but not too soft either. My son has a WRX and every time I use it, the clutch feels like my left feet is getting an exercise with a 30lbs dumbbell.

The clutch is light and easy.

I find the engagement point quite far out though. Still okay, but personally I find it's a little too far out to be perfection, again for me.

Either way, it'd tackle traffic no problem.

Find an SI or Integra Aspec . The Type S clutch will have more feel than these making it easier to find the engagement spot.

It's perfect. I've owned and driven a shit ton of manual cars from Mazda to Porsche, and this is the single best overall clutch feel I've experienced in any of them.

Some might complain that it isn't "sports car" enough because it doesn't give your leg a workout. Personally I strongly disagree because this isn't the type of car that you only drive on weekends or on the racetrack.

It's perfect.

I find it just fine. Lighter than my original clutch (140k) S2000.

It is one of the easiest manual cars to drive in traffic, if you happen to get stuck in that situation. The rev match system works great in that situation.

I wish it didn't have the delay valves, but that is becoming an industry wide thing, to protect the drivetrain during warranty (all I can figure).

I was expecting a somewhat heavy pedal. but the first time I pushed in the pedal I slammed it to the floor, and it felt like it wasn't even connected. This is compared to EK with 97 ITR clutch/tranny which requires decent pressure to fully disengage.
I am pleasantly surprised that the ITS clutch engineering is superb, and I can drive in rush hour stop and go traffic in my ITS without any issues of leg fatigue, which is not the case in my EK.
IMO, this clutch is super light and easy, even for someone that has NEVER driven a manual or just learning.
(I agree the engagement is slightly higher than I would like. Hasn't bothered me enough to see if it is adjustable like my EK is)

It's a light pedal maybe even to light in 6'1 and the height of the pedal to push in is fine for daily driving I barely lift my foot and leg . I think for daily driving with lots of stop and go is more then fine

Still in queue for my Type S, so no direct experience. Drove an A-Spec dealer demo and was disappointed. Compared to my daily driver GTI - the pedal pressure was fine, but take-up engagement point was way too high - to the point it was difficult to drive smoothly. Perhaps that clutch was mis-adjusted, or the car had been abused (doubtful - still new), but am hoping the Type S will be better. Regardless, clutch pressure was not excessive, and the take-up point is something I'll get used to.

Type S is a lot better and provides more feel.
