I feel like the heat button at the bottom is the most obnoxious location for a single function button. It did! I've been rocking it for a few weeks now and loving the comfort in the cold. I've gotten a bit lazy and haven't found time to put together my video yet, but thanks for the reminder - I'll try it to do it sometime soon. Here's a picture for now:
I actually don't mind it. BMW puts it in the same location. I used to drive with my finger in the opening where the button goes and thought I'd miss it after installing the heating, but I don't really care.I feel like the heat button at the bottom is the most obnoxious location for a single function button.
I do like the look of this, but man... comes out to almost $1000 before shipping. How Long did it take you to do the swap?I actually don't mind it. BMW puts it in the same location. The location of the button is much better IMO than what Toyota does, at least on the RAV4. Theirs is in the row of buttons to the left of the steering wheel. Every time I go to use it, I have to look behind the wheel to find it. With the Integra I can just feel for it without looking.
I wanna say total was around $1200 give or take. I justified the total cost by telling myself it'd cost around the same if I were to just get the Acura wheel and have a dealer install it.I do like the look of this, but man... comes out to almost $1000 before shipping. The look, worth it. But man, the price is sour... I half just want to buy the OEM one for the heat at $350 and call it a day...I wanna say total was around $1200 give or take. I split the work over 2 days (including recording video for a DIY). Looking at the timestamps on my videos, I'd say about 6-7 hours total. But that was also with me recording, getting distracted, and taking breaks here and there. I still have yet to finish putting the video together, but now that it's almost winter I think it's a perfect time to get it done.
If you don't care as much about losing the red stitching and the perforation, I say go for it! You'll at least still have the Type-S logo on the bottom to have some kind of reminder that you're driving the fun model. The heating alone will be worth it. I don't know about you, but having heated seats is one of the reasons I picked the Type S over the Type R.The look, worth it. But man, the price is sour... Yeah, heated seats is nice and my heat in garage broke this week and I sincerely miss the heated wheel. This seems like pretty much what you put in yours right? If you don't care as much about losing the red stitching and the perforation, I say go for it! I'm pretty sure that picture is my wheel. That looks like the inside of my garage lol. I know they post previous custom orders to their page in case someone wants to order exactly that spec.Yeah, heated seats is nice and my heat in garage broke this week and I sincerely miss the heated wheel. I just sucked it up, put my big boy pants on and bought the same wheel as you. Hoping the install goes quickI'm pretty sure that picture is my wheel. That looks like the inside of my garage lol. I know they post previous custom orders to their page in case someone wants to order exactly that spec.
I should have my DIY ready soon and will post here when it's ready. When I did it, the hardest parts were transferring over the connector from the Acura heated wheel (TTDCraft one comes with just wires), routing the heating wire around the wheel core so it doesn't interfere with the back cover closing (it comes out from the left side instead of the bottom like Acura's wheel - I gave them feedback on this so they might have fixed this by now), and plugging in the wire under the dash by the firewall. I also had to add a tiny amount of super glue to one side of the back cover so it would stay closed all the way. Otherwise the rest was pretty smooth sailing.I’m thinking about getting a new steering wheel since the temps have dropped. How hard was the install process?
Sounds like you have a short or a bad relay. I’d take it back. That’s definitely not normal. Should stay on until you turn it off.For those that have the heated wheel, how long does it stay on for? We got ours installed by the dealer and the wheel does work, but it only stays on for about a minute and then it shuts off. Is this how it's' supposed to work? Is there any setting or some way to elongate the time it's actually on?
