I bought a new slave cylinder and removed the delay valve so it would be ready to install as soon as I removed the original. Glad I did because it took a long time the first one I did. It is a PITA to do so I went ahead and removed it from the other one to hopefully save someone some anguish.
$130 shipping included USPS ground.

The delay valve retards the clutch engagement when releasing the pedal. if you like performance driving, you like to feel the engagement in the delay valve slightly hinders that The delay valve is more to protect the clutch from newbies learning ha ha ha.

i think this is also the cause of the gear grind that happens when you shift real hard/fast at redline between 1st and 2nd

While it doesn't sound like it - might that delay valve also have some function tied to the very annoying "Rev-Hang"? I'd sure like to get rid of that.

Thats requires a Tune to remove. Its an emissions thing.

Correct the delay valve only Slows the clutch puck engagement to the flywheel. The rev hang is the engine keeping rotation while the clutch is disengaged which is entirely controlled by the ECU
