Full PPF on the rear diffuser

Doing full ppf on ITS.
Installer says that rear diffuser is not included, and the matte black intake vents infront of the intercooler are not included as well.

Is this normal? Thought FULL PPF meant the whole exterior.

I feel like diffuser isnt done cuz its a pain given odd angles and shape.

They didn't do the front of the intercooler on mine either and I wouldn't expect them to. It's not an area that can be easily covered and the ppf probably wouldn't adhere anyway. The diffuser can probably be done in multiple pieces but I bet the installer likely works off of a template and doesn't want to do a custom piece for the diffuser.

Shop only does custom cuts, so was a little surprised they didnt offer to do the diffuser. Just seeing if anyone else has experienced this with ITS, as I am paying for a full ppf but seems theres exclusions

My installer did the rear diffuser, because that’s what I asked for. I did it for protection from people playing parallel parking bumper cars. He did the front, too (but not the matte black portion). Everything was custom cut.

Mine didn't do the front intercooler area. It is matte black plastic, said film wouldn't adhere very well. The rear diffuser was filmed but had to be done in sections. This was back at the end of 2023--not sure if any templates are now available for it.

Yea - wonder what others think about this .....

I did a significant partial PPF on my 2024 ITS - which cost $4500.

With all taxes, options, and Zero dealer markup - the car was $60K, and now perhaps worth $48K on a good day. After some months of reflection, the PPF cost is simply too expensive (percentage of value) for a moderately priced car like the ITS. It would be a different decision for a $350K Porsche GT3 RS - but I don't think PPF on an ITS will translate into any additional future value. What do others think?

And - taking good care of PPF is a pain.

Definitely not ppf to retain future value, but for my own enjoyment and peace of mind. This is very likely the last manual car ill have ever, so I will do what I can to preserve it and keep it part of the rotation long term.

Full ppf is only 5-7% of the total cost where i am, so not exactly breaking the bank IMO. Will depend on diff situations and needs. If you're not looking to hold onto it for 7+ years, you wont optimize the value of full ppf.

Some will argue that PPF is just protecting the paint for the next owner!

My Integra is my second fully filmed car. It's for my own OCD tendencies. The film makes maintaining and cleaning the car fairly easy. Less worrying about chips while driving. The cost was about $6500, which was in the middle range of various quotes I received. Others will argue a full respray of a car is less than that cost. To each his own...

I took my car out to a new track yesterday and it was littered with debris. The ppf protected the paint and even got a bit pitted in areas. My windshield on the other hand is now toast. It looks like a 150k mi windshield due to the debris. It's so pitted I'm considering just replacing it. Without the ppf on it, this super fragile paint would have been destroyed and I'd be looking at a nearly $2k respray for the front end. So I would say it's worth it there.

I did the full front end, rockers, a pillars, roof, rear valence, and ceramic coated everything else. I made sure the ppf installer did the gloss black areas on the front bumper and rear valence. That said, those are complex areas, especially in the rear, so they have to do it in a bunch of small pieces. You end up losing some coverage this way and if your ppf installer sucks (like mine did), then it ends up looking like it's cracked the moment it gets dirty. If your ppf person is not doing those areas by default when you ask for them, I would shop around elsewhere because it sounds like they don't have confidence they'll be able to do it so they're avoiding it.

One other note, the orange peel on these cars is brutal. Ppf, no matter how high end, will always make it worse to some degree. The front bumper cowl on my red car looked like cheap plastic from factory, and after ppf was on it looks someone painted it in a shed in back woods Ohio. Harsh criticism, yes, but I have to be honest about it.
