Hood Damper/ Struts for the DE4 DE5 Type S

I am unable to break the outside strut bolts loose on each side in order to attach the mounting plates for the hood strut. Was using a 14mm socket, turning counter-clockwise. Tried breaker bar, then quick pops with an electric torque wrench. No luck, I don't wanna strip these, but damn! Have any of you experienced this?

There should be no reason they should be torque that tight. Removing thee plastic clip should be way more difficult than that bolt!
