I want my car to sound nicer, not pursuing extra power. It seems minimally invasive and unlikely to affect warranty.

However, I see lots of people warning about heat soak. I am struggling to find empirical numbers comparing it to the stock intake; almost everything I find online is comparing this SRI to aftermarket CAIs.

I live in the DC metro area (I barely drive in the city proper, as I live/work in the suburbs) and occasionally spend decent time in the Hampton roads area for work (1+ week at a time and usually in summer).

I am not looking for something that nerfs my car in the summer months, I just want to be able to hear the turbo.

Does anyone have numbers or even anecdotes about how it compares to stock with occasional spirited driving and highway commutes (with occasional stop n go)?

I've run SRI in the past with other cars and honestly couldn't tell the difference as far as power goes, just enjoyed the sound more. If you're not into racing track or drag, etc, I wouldn't worry about it. give it a go!

I agree with the above. Have used SRI's on multiple platforms and have enjoyed increased turbo sounds, but never noticed anything in the seat of my pants.

If your goal is increased turbo sound, I'd say go for it. If you think that, potentially, down the line you'll want more power you can feel plus the sound, I'd say go for a closed CAI from the onset. You'll notice the throttle response. Doesn't sound like you're there, though. The SRI will most likely get you what you're looking for.

If you are just cruising you are unlikely to have any noticeable negative impacts.

Thanks, I ordered the SRI. It should be coming in a week or so. It seems 27won also sells a conversion kit, so if I want to go CAI later on it should be a simple enough upgrade.
