Ok so I’m having this weird issue I hope someone can shine a light on what’s causing it, hopefully someone that has had this issue before and fixed it.

I’m going to start off with mods list 2024 ITS with 25k miles
•catless downpipe
•PRL high flow intake
•PRL intercooler
•PRL charge pipes
•hondata CANflex fuel sensor
•hondata jailbreak & flashpro mini
•catch can
(Stock internals)

I started noticing the problem around a month ago, it was having issues starting up (weak crank up) so I got a new battery for it.. it starts good now but at times as it’s cranking up the engine sounds like it starts up kinda misfiring for half a second and that’s when it throws misfire codes, but it only happens once every 6-8 start ups, and when the codes come up I just turn it off and put it on accessory mode to clear the codes then it starts up strong like nothings wrong with it after clearing the codes, and it never throws the codes as I’m driving. only on those weird start ups.

I thought the e85 might’ve had something to do but I changed it back to the intercooler, downpipe, 91 octane tune from hondata and I’m on pump gas now with no ethanol yet it still does the same thing, the car drives perfectly fine it feels strong, idk what could be the issue. I attached a picture of the codes before I cleared them, sometimes it only throws cyclinder 1. Or sometimes 1 &3 or 3&4 it’s random af. Someone help lol

Maybe plugs need to be replaced? Other than that could be some sort of fueling issue related to canflex kit?

I am very curious to what’s going on. I don’t have any experience with the CANFlex.
Does it only do that on cold startups or does it occasionally do it onwarm cranks?
I would be curious to just remove the CANFlex from the equation, but not sure how hard it would be to simply remove for a test.
On cold starts do you crank it immediately or have you tried turning it on for a few seconds to prime before cranking?
The fact that it shows misfiring on all cylinders makes me think it’s not your plugs or wires but either a fuel prime or something to do with the can flex giving your ECU incorrect readings on startup.

I agree with checking the plugs. They may be fouled from the fuel changes (yes..slim)
But at 25k... hmm. Consider replacing them.

Talk to a tuner... see if you should regap new plugs or leave em stock. Prob fine at stock tbh

Sometimes it happens when the car is already warmed up, but it’s not always all 4 cylinders, sometimes it only turns cylinder 1 or sometimes it turns a couple of cylinders. This time it turned on all 4 but doesn’t do that all the time, it’s so weird

I was thinking that too, I know it’s not as likely with only 25k miles, I have a friend that has a Dc2 integra runnning on e85 and he doesn’t have to replace plugs that often. But I’ll ask a tuner what spark plug gap I should be running, I hope it’s as simple as that. I might just end up putting new plugs just in case since they’re not really expensive

P0219e is engine overspeed.

When all the flashing, etc has been done, has a ckp pattern relearn been done?

I would recommend a custom tune. I had this same code randomly on start-ups. @JesterTuned was able to fix it with a revised tune.

It’s not p0219 it’s p219e, I’ve had overspeed before when I do hard launch, what’s the ckp pattern relearn? How do i perform that?

Sorry, I misread. P219e is cylinder 3 fuel/air ratio imbalance.

ckp pattern learn, is in most bi directional scanners that are able to perform that function. In the case of some Hondas it requires putting the car in that state, and the scanner has you floor it and run it to a built in limiter and the learn is complete.

Every car I've reflashed with factory software, require several steps after, including a ckp pattern learn, or in the case of Fords a misfire profile correction learn (same thing, different terms). The same applies if you change a crankshaft position sensor. I recently had to do this on an older K24 Accord.

The PCM learns the car's unique pattern when it is actually running correctly. If the car IS misfiring, the pattern won't learn.

Not surprised on the plug situation. I blew threw plugs in 9k miles on my previous car. Tuned, water meth injection, etc. running high boost can ruin plugs pretty quick.

update, that was quick but it’s still throwing misfire codes but now I can hear it thru the exhaust that it misfires randomly(very faintly) I’ll try to upload a video with the sound of exhaust, only on idle is when I can notice it. This is so weird
