Open Fuel Door

Anyone ever arrive at their destination to find their fuel door is unlocked / not closed?

I noticed this when I exited my car at work this AM. It stuck out to me immediately (when I closed my driver's door), but I didn't notice it when walking up to the car / getting in (I haven't gotten gas this week, there's no signs of tampering, and I believe it locks when you lock the car door), so I'm thinking this had to have happened while I was driving.

Sounds like human error. The fuel door is hand push only, not like the hood latch.

No, I am confident that is not the issue. I have driven the car 5 days (often 2-3x a day w. commute / grocery shopping, etc.) since my last fillup.

I'm not sure if this helps you figure out what happened since you mentioned it was a while ago, but what I've noticed is that if for some reason you lock the car with the gas door open and then close it afterward, it won't lock. I'd imagine that by now the car has been locked and unlocked several times, so the gas door should have locked by this point.

It's possible... just highly unlikely. This caught my attention immediately this AM when I closed my driver's door. I can't imagine I missed it every other time I walked up to the car, opened the door, got in, got out, etc.

The mechanism is fairly simple (it relies on a threaded piston with a spring... as you depress it, it rotates).
Did some digging, and there are a couple posts on the Civic forums for this (not FL5). Will keep my eye on it for sure...

I've done this several times and it locked everytime?!
