I always have a pocket watch in my back pocket.:p
LOL. I goofed big time yesterday and spilled an entire chocolate protein shake in my passenger seat in traffic.

I took the seat apart in order to get into every nook and cranny and ensure the cushion wasn't soaked with it. This got me a pretty good view of the heating element. I can take a photo and share later of what it looks like and you'll see what I mean.

For now, here's a photo of my goof up,

As I cleaned this up, I grabbed a photos of the lower heating element assembly. You can see where the wires are and how thin they are.

Glad I found this thread, I was about to ask the dealer is my seat was defective. Compared to my 10th gen SI and MK8 GTI, these seats do not get very hot or stay hot for very long.

Bit of a disappointment since heated seats are one of the things that sold me on the ITS over the CTR. Still happy to have them though.

^ thanks for reminder about this thread. I had an hour drive the other day and set the passenger side and my side to level 3. I had to turn mine off when I started to cook after 15 mins with the windows open at 36F, but I watched the passenger side and it never dropped to 2 like others are experiencing...

If it's not hot or it's dropping for you, there is likely something wrong with the temp sensor in the seat. Test the other seat and/or take it in. Something is wrong.

This is not accurate. The section called Front Seat Heaters of the user manual lays out this "feature". "After a certain period of time, the strength setting for the front seat heaters will automatically be reduced by one level at a time until the front seat heaters shuts off. The elapsed time varies according to the interior environment."

That is shocking and dumb if true.

I haven't seen an implementation like this on any other car I've owned.

Also doesn't make sense that it would stay on 3 in my car for an hour but drop to 2 after 2mins for others.

It's true. My wife's '24 RDX also does this. Her's are way hotter on all settings though than my Integra.

Yeah I just found it in the side section. Good call. I take my statement back... Just another nuisance.

Yet another thing acura/Honda does differently that's annoying šŸ™„šŸ˜‘

It is very strange. We've had BMWs, Lexi, a Benz, a Porsche, Saabs and Volvos - none of these cycle the settings automatically. Most (Lexus excluded) get much warmer, and the wood wheel on our Macan gets scalding!!

Iā€™m pretty sure my wifeā€™s Traverse does this. I know Iā€™ll turn it on 3 and Iā€™ll look down and see it on 2 like 10 mins later. Iā€™ve noticed it on the teggy, but luckily weā€™re coming out of winter so it hasnā€™t bothered me. Iā€™m sure Iā€™ll be punching the air in Januaryā€¦

All I know is I'm happy to have it in NY.

Seats feel noticeably warm in literally a minute or two of driving down the street. A heated steering wheel would be nice but Alcantara doesn't seem to get that cold anyways.
