I'd say it's about the same. it might be a hair heavier, but honestly, it feels about stock for weight.
I don't need a heavy knob...Just the ball style feels better in my hand. Using a replica Mugen style now but wanna swap to the FK8..even thought about the FL5 teardrop style.

I contempleted the Mugen style. I ultimately wanted something OEM. I also prefer the ball type shift knobs. My favorite one was the Abrams M1 that TWM performance used to make, but they don't appear to be in business anymore. It was weighted, gunmetal, without the gear engravings. it was a beautiful knob... I ended up giving it to a buddy, when i sold one of my last manual transmission cars, thinking i likely wouldn't be in another honda manual again. and here we are LOL

I love my countersunk knob from my old S2000 but it's too heavy for the Integra shifter and since it's countersunk....sits too low compared to the S2K so it just sits in my garage. I'll probably just do the FK8 and see how I like it.

I too liked the look of the ball style, but also wanted it to not sit too low and have room for my pinky finger, so I got it custom made from WC Lathe a la ND Miata style.

I am going to advocate you should have gone with this insulated shift know from Acuity given you are in Texas like myself. When I first got it last May and it sat in the parking lot before I had it tinted or had a shield the stock knob was so darn hot at 4 when I left I could barely shift. This one is great and not too expensive, love it.

That looks good. I just prefer the OE look. I have ceramic tint all around including windshield. Plus my windshield visor for the heat so shouldn't be too bad... it sucks in the cold though for a few minutes lol

The ti acuity collar lowered the knob by a bit so that the taller knob is sitting near factory ti knob height now. I no longer think the throws need to be shorter. Throws are perfect now. I do wish the gates were a bit wider from factory, but eh what can you do, 🤷‍♂️. Feels great and I much prefer the circular design. It also seems to fit the character of the car well since it's a slower transmission and needs more finesse that the larger/heavier knob affords.
