Can someone identify what part this is on Acura parts diagram/catalog? I need to order a replacement. Thanks!

Look on dreamhop. Easy to find. This is for the Type S.

These handles are a constant problem. I wouldn't spend money yourself, but instead ask the dealer to warranty them.

They replaced mine twice already for randomly popping out.

When you install them, make sure you put them in facing the right way. It's a PITA to get them back out if you put them in the wrong way. Don't ask me how I know 🙃

So, do the replacements fall out as well? Mine keeps coming loose on the passenger side, which is pretty frustrating for a $50k car.

The first replacements I had did fall out several times. The second replacements have been better. One is okay, but the other will "click" every now and then and I have to push it to reseat. It doesn't fall out, but yeah it feels incredibly cheap. All the plastic back there feels cheap. If you ever remove them... I would consider them one time use.

I've also changed my style of closing the hatch. I'm intentionally more gentle and follow the instructions from the manual that state the handles are for "lowering" the hatch, and then the spoiler is for closing it... Dumb, but it works

I’ve also seen that in the manual, and I find it quite absurd. Handles are designed to be pulled. This whole thing is like how companies advise against using Q-tips in your ears.

Ha Ha! Did the same thing when installing my spoiler. They are in there pretty good!

That's exactly when I did it lol. I made a YouTube video showing the process and greyed that part out like those As Seen on TV commercials.

Or is this really the answer to prevent them from falling out?? 🤣

I mean yes, they certainly won't fall out if you do that. But good luck actually using them - it's a really awkward hand motion.
On my gti the handles were hidden and backwards to the its. So your palm faced you when pulling on it. Might not be so hard to retrain the brain again, 😂.

I had a MK7 before this as well so I know what you mean. The difference is the GTI handle is on the inside facing the front of the car (straight down when it's open), where the Integra has them facing downward (straight out when it's open). When you curl your fingers up to close the hatch on the GTI, you're grabbing the handle and pulling straight down. This setup on the Integra doesn't make sense because there's not really anything to grab onto and pull down and you'd have to contort your arm like an ostrich reaching for something in a very tight spot every time. The normal way is flipped so you actually have something to grab onto when you're pulling down.

Yeah I figured.
