how do you know when you get assigned a VIN?

Just got confirmation that my Tiger Eye pre-order should arrive around 7/10. Acura of North Austin (formerly David McDavid) are sticking with MSRP + Tint, wheel locks, all-weather mats and cargo tray, which they were transparent about since orders opened. Very pleased.

Did you get that notification from the dealer or Acura directly?

If Acura is building them from the right of this chart to the left, it should be up soon--oddly, the Acura build tool also shows White/Orchid being an option, but it isn't on this list at all:

I have no clue if this is true or not but the guys who has been emailing with me from the dealership said they were building the Blue ones first. On a different note when savagegeese shoot his ITS review n visited the plant they had white ones being built. Of course we don't know when he went.

I initially received an email from Acura corporate on the 16th indicating my car was being built. I reached out to my dealer earlier this week and they notified me that the car was built and should be arriving around the 10th.

Call your dealer and they can check to see if the VIN has been assigned. My sales guy messaged me a photo from their system.

Does anyone know when the White with Ebony is being built?So I ran to the dealer when I first heard of the the Type S the day it was announced in April. I put a $500.00 deposit down. I initially wanted white with Orchid. But my sales guy called in April saying he could only get the white/red or white/ ebony . When the preorder came out in May I was not able to reserve a car but my sales guy told me not worry that I was first on list. He called me last Friday to come see the demo which was already sold to one of the Acura mechanics. The sales guy said he is not sure when the White/ebony will come in. Just checking to see if anyone has any further build info please.

I have the same color combination. Put a nonrefundable deposit down last week and my dealer said it would come within 60 days but most likely sooner. Said he had to buy it from another dealership’s allotment and that it’s actually sitting at a port ready to be shipped? Gonna talk to him tomorrow to get additional details

Dealerships received a communication saying White/Orchid was the first of the reservation system vehicles being built, and that they would be arriving so quickly to the dealers that customers wouldn't receive the emails letting them know that their car was going into production (since they were most likely already built). Then it looks like they went on to produce Black/Black, LCM/Red, and Tiger Eye/Black.

The Savagegeese footage from MAP did show white ITS' being assembled, but many of the journalist demo cars were White/Red or Blue/Orchid, and most dealership demos are White/Red. So it'd make sense that those were the combos built first. Also, like you said, it's impossible to say when that footage was shot.

In any case, MAP builds in batches of 50-100 vehicles in a single color combo, and they'll switch in Base-Tech Integras and TLX's as well. The dealerships don't have much information yet, but do know if they have cars on the way/if they're spoken for. Until the first 200 are out, it's probably just speculation to say what will be built next. You've got Acura Columbus and Lindsay nearby, you could work with both and weigh out the reliability of the information given by each. For what it's worth, Acura Columbus claims they have a list of 60 people, but Lindsay acted like they didn't have a list... I strongly suspect they have a list as well, albeit a list of people willing to pay ADM of $5k+.

Thank you so much for the info. I hope it comes in soon. I have a 2020 FK8 with really low miles that I'm trading in. But we are 2 car family. So I am trying to drive it at least as possible. So nothing happens to it .

Hey all, I just went to the dealership to finalized the deal on my reserved TEP car but was told it's actually not part of the pre-sale and it's actually coming from their allocation. But it'll be delivered in the next 2 weeks.

The car's vin is in the 475-500 range, which seems to be the range for the other preorder cars too. Not sure what's going on. Does anyone know the vin range for the preordered cars?

Interesting. That might be the first regular allocation to arrive if true, but kind of hard to believe they’d get a regular allocation before all the reserved cars. Maybe someone reserved it, then canceled?

I read that the last digits indicate order of production number. Not 100% validated on my end. The last 3 of mine are "604".
