I live in Ontario, Canada, where salt is spread on our roads in the Winter. Is anybody considering undercoat protection for their ITS? Do you think it's necessary?

Hope you're not thinking about that:

Not the rubberized - a clear undercoating I think, is available - it is messy though. I personally do not want to do it.

I wonder what areas you could apply it w/ the underside enclosure.

My brother moved a year ago to Canada and he was advised to enroll into a carwash subscription that offers under carriage washing. Before getting home he stops by and does a clean up (almost every day).

Does it works?
Only time will tell.

Rust proofing is mandatory in Canada if you drive your car in the winter and want to keep it for a long time.

Did it on all of my cars, including the ITS.

Rust proofing is mandatory in “Eastern” Canada if you drive your car in the winter and want to keep it for a long time.

Did it on all of my cars, including the ITS.
Out West we use more sand than salt due to temperatures. I have never rust proofed any car I own and just do regular washes doing my best to clean the undercarriage and have never had any rust issues.

Plus newer cars are treated at the factory for better corrosion prevention. But if you live somewhere where a lot of salt or sodium chloride is used than it is definitely worth looking into.

Out here in Alberta are battle is with windshield rock chips…

Products like surface shield and fluid film are good in protecting metal parts against rust. They do need to be re applied periodically to maintain protection
