Interesting. You’re the first owner right. I had fewer options because I bought the wheels used.

he said apex is in the process of revising the knurling on the sprint line, we have not come up with a solution to my issue yet as I do not plan on going to a different brand of tires (purchased tire warranty through Acura)
Honestly it would be nice if they could just offer the knurling as an option on the wheel. I think most folks who aren't doing hardcore track work probably don't benefit from it. A ton of folks run wheels like the RPF1 which have no knurling and I haven't heard of anyone having issues with tire slippage. Heck I haven't heard of the FK8 stock wheels having knurling and they set a nurburgring record on those.

I’m not one to comment on mass production so I don’t have a say.

Personally I think they are fine the way they are but the issue with Michelin tires is potentially a problem for people like me who don’t plan on running any other brand of tires, I don’t plan on doing a lot of hardcore track, just weekend warrior stuff, I probably wouldn’t recommend PS4S if you’re trying to set personal best lap times anyways, I am more street oriented which the tires are perfectly acceptable for.

Just mounted this tire in 285/35/18 but only drove home 40 minutes so far to beat the storms & get dinner started. No time for pics but did drive it hard to pass people driving 5 mph under the speed limit in the left lane of course so it saw speeds up to about 115-120. All holding air well so far but parked up on ramps in the shop until the overnight storms pass. Got quite a bit of work done today as well but will post in the “What did you do today thread” later bc the kids are hungry & we’re hangry 😆 @StingertimeNC

Thanks! Yessir, these are the anthracite Apex wheels. I bought some TLX center caps from eBay and popped the chrome off and painted them black. Matches the rear emblem now!

Ok. Finally done with this Apex project. Lol.
275x30, continental extreme contact 02, 19x9.5 rims, +45 offset. Eibach pro kit springs. Just adding pics as I finally got a wash on her.
Tires are holding air!!!

Thanks.
In the end I think it all worked out. I wanted 275 tires anyway, just didn’t want them this quickly. Lol.
I agree though, if you’re going with 19 inch wheels, the 275 width tire is key!!

@StingertimeNC which window deflectors are those?
They are “Mugen” style replicas. Bought off Amazon. Less than $100 if I remember correctly. They are decent considering price.
if you get them, please also use 3m adhesive promoter when installing. I had a few areas kind of come loose. I just kind of propped them up and took a Q-tip and rub some adhesive promoter in there, and stuck them back down. That seem to do the trick. If I had to do over, I would’ve put adhesive promoter along the whole length of the visor. I’ve had them on at the track with no issues. Also be advised they will increase when noise slightly around the Sideview mirror area.

I'm really wondering- for those who saw Zygrene's video where he de-beaded his tire at Laguna Seca, he was on the OEM wheels/tires. I can't find the video now, but I always felt like there was something very interesting about that; to the point where I doubted his judgement when he said that it most certainly was the tire that came off the rim on Turn 6- I always wondered how he'd really be able to tell that, and I felt that the likelihood of a street tire coming off the bead was so low that he must have just went off and the gravel pulled the tire off the bead...

But now I'm not so sure.

Maybe there's just some issue with these Michelins on the Integra Type S???

I'm thinking I'm going to be swapping wheels after all- and possibly avoiding the track until I figure that part out. I want to stay with 19s but it really does seem that 18s are the smarter choice when it comes to the track. I'll probably be doing Bridgestone RE-71RS.

Or maybe I'm discovering I'm more of an autocross guy after all. All this recent incident talk with people going off and/or destroying their cars, maybe I'll just stick to sim racing.
